Abstract:
A charge coupling for an electric vehicle wherein conduction is enabled from a charger to a battery of the electric vehicle when a supply connector, connected to the charger is completely fitted to a vehicle inlet installed in the electrical vehicle, this charged coupling including a locking device for temporarily locking the supply connector to the vehicle inlet at a half fitted position, the supply connector being provided, on an end of which engages the vehicle inlet, with a protective member.
Abstract:
A plurality of semiconductor devices having flanged edges are loaded into a first apertured tray with the leads extending in an outward direction. A second apertured tray is placed over the first tray and both trays are inverted with the transistors supported on the second tray and their leads extending downward into the apertures of the second tray. A third tray having counter-sunk apertures is placed on the second tray and after both are inverted, the transistors with their leads are positioned within the counter-sunk apertures. A blocking slide is then mounted over the third tray which is then inverted and positioned over a fourth tray having insulating pads positioned in counter-sunk apertures. Removal of the blocking slide will allow the leads of the transistor to drop through apertures in the insulating pads.
Abstract:
A battery includes a housing, and within the housing, an anode having an alkali metal as the active material, a cathode having a mass (m) of a cathode active material, for example, iron disulfide as the active material, a separator between the anode and the cathode, and an increased electrolyte volume (v).
Abstract:
A zinc-air cell, a battery which is a low weight, low volume, or high energy system, or a combination thereof, and an apparatus for recharging the same are disclosed.
Abstract:
A vehicle includes a battery pack and at least one controller programmed to implement a model of the battery pack. The model includes parameters representing an internal resistance and charge transfer impedance of the battery pack, and identified from an extended Kalman filter having an augmented state vector. The augmented state vector is at least partially defined by a time constant associated with the charge transfer impedance and a variable representing a proportionality between the internal resistance and a resistance term of the charge transfer impedance to reduce observed variability of the parameters.
Abstract:
A cold plasma mask application device for delivery of a cold plasma to the face of a patient. An appropriate gas is introduced into a gas containment area that is energized by one or more electrodes that receive energy from a pulsed source. The plasma can be prevented from contact with the patient's face, or can be allowed to make contact with the patient's face at the appropriate treatment area. A three-layer approach to the manufacture of the cold plasma mask application device is also described. Such a device and method can be used to treat acne as well as complex facial wounds such as those resulting from trauma, melanoma, and other cancers of the face, rosacea, and psoriasis.
Abstract:
An organic light emitting display including a first substrate, a second substrate spaced from and positioned opposite the first substrate, a display unit positioned between the first and second substrates, a multi-layered structure between outside areas of the first and second substrates, and an adhesive member positioned in a formation area of the multi-layered structure and configured to seal the first and second substrates.
Abstract:
An intermediate circuit for controlling the connection of a fuel cell stack to a load bus includes three switching elements arranged in a pi configuration. At least one such switching element is provided for short circuiting either or both of the fuel cell stack and the load bus, while a further switching element controllably interrupts the line connection between the fuel cell stack and the load bus. The respective switches are driven according to a control method that accommodates start-up operation, switch-off operation, emergency shut down, and a self diagnostic mode.
Abstract:
The system includes a method and means of technological defense against violent atmospheric cyclones: tornadoes, hurricanes, others. The controlled meteorological missiles equipped with rocket servo-motors and magneto-gas-dynamic ionizers are used. The running out hot exhaust gases of rocket motors are converted into electro-conductive dashed plasma jets, which initiate and trigger multiple electro-shorting dischargers between contrary charged zones through ionized plasma jet segments of said dischargers. This disorders and de-energizes the cyclonic electrically saturated zones by multiple triple diverse and combined actions. The rotations slow down and end, and the cyclones get dispersed by own winds. The Guard can be used for preventing violent sky cyclones and severe lightning storms by preemptive operating into monitored over-saturated atmospheric electrostatic fields.
