摘要： Systems and methods are provided for notifying users about videos in a playback sequence. The systems and methods determine that a video that meets a criterion is currently available on a video server associated with a messaging client. In response to determining that the video that meets the criterion is currently available, the messaging client on the client device prefetches a sequence of videos from a recommendation engine that match a profile of a user associated with the messaging client. The recommendation engine is being used to provide sequence of videos to a video playback graphical user interface (GUI) that automatically plays back the videos in the sequence. The systems and methods determine that the video that meets the criterion is in a first position in the sequence of videos and, in response, present a notification that indicates the availability of the video on the video playback GUI.

The highlights may be segments of a video stream, such as a broadcast of a sporting event, that are of particular interest to one or more users. According to one method, at least a portion of the video stream may be stored. The portion of the video stream may be compared with templates of a template database to identify the one or more highlights. Each highlight may be a subset of the video stream that is deemed likely to match the one or more templates. The highlights, an identifier that identifies each of the highlights within the video stream, and/or metadata pertaining particularly to the one or more highlights may be stored to facilitate playback of the highlights for the users.

摘要： A media presentation and distribution system (MPDS) that handles rules-based presentation of non-programming media items, receives a user request (which includes user parameters) for delivery of programming media content at a first client device and transmits a media stream that includes the programming media content with a plurality of identifiers present with the programming media content. The MPDS further receives a request that includes one or more user preferences from the first client device, based on a detection of the plurality of identifiers. The MPDS further determines a set of non-programming media items for delivery to the first client device. The MPDS further controls presentation of a part of the media stream on a second client device that is paired with the first client device based on a movement of the second client device in a communication range of the second client device with the first client device.

摘要： Metadata for one or more highlights of a video stream may be extracted from one or more card images embedded in the video stream. The highlights may be segments of the video stream, such as a broadcast of a sporting event, that are of particular interest. According to one method, video frames of the video stream are stored. One or more information cards embedded in a decoded video frame may be detected by analyzing one or more predetermined video frame regions. Image segmentation, edge detection, and/or closed contour identification may then be performed on identified video frame region(s). Further processing may include obtaining a minimum rectangular perimeter area enclosing all remaining segments, which may then be further processed to determine precise boundaries of information card(s). The card image(s) may be analyzed to obtain metadata, which may be stored in association with at least one of the video frames.

Stored assets are correlated to the extracted topics to select an asset based on characteristics of the extracted topics correlating with the selected asset. The selected asset is rendered with the digital media.
