Abstract:
Described herein are systems and methods for determining the location, composition and concentration of a hydrocarbon containing plume in environmental seawater. These systems and methods disclosed use multiple complex admittance measurements from seawater in order to identify the contents, concentration, and location of the hydrocarbon containing plume. In preferred variations system includes a sensor array that substantially simultaneously records plume location, depth, and composition.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device is disclosed that is capable of utilizing multiple radio access technologies (RATs) in various coordinated ways so as to optimize, and enhance the versatility, of the device's communication capabilities. One or more RATs may be selected for use, either alone or in cooperation with each other, based on various conditions, such as channel conditions, traffic, data type, and priority. When conditions change, the originally-selected communication scheme may no longer be preferred. Consequently, the device can initiate a handover to another communication scheme. Transmitters corresponding to RATs that are not currently selected are controlled to enter a low-power state in order to conserve power. However, in some circumstances, the device may utilize both RATs simultaneously. For example, redundant communications can be made over both RATs for error-reduction or other purposes, and partial communications can be made over multiple RATs for increased speed and bandwidth, among other reasons.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a wireless telephone having a first microphone and a second microphone and a method for processing audio signal in a wireless telephone having a first microphone and a second microphone. The wireless telephone includes a first microphone, a second microphone, and a signal processor. The first microphone outputs a first audio signal, the first audio signal comprising a voice component and a background noise component. The second microphone outputs a second audio signal. The signal processor increases a ratio of the voice component to the noise component of the first audio signal based on the content of at least one of the first audio signal and the second audio signal to produce a third audio signal.
Abstract:
Aspects of the invention provide a method and system for communicating information in a distributed media network. The communication of information in a distributed media network may include detecting availability of new media, data and/or service and migrating the newly available media, data and/or service to at least a first media processing system within the distributed media network. The migrated media, data and/or service may be stored at a first media processing system. If the stored media, data and/or service is to be processed, then the media, data and/or service may be migrated to a media view and/or a channel view associated with a media processing system. If the newly available migrated media, data and/or service is to be pushed, then the migrated media, data and/or service may be pushed to a second media processing system and/or a personal computer coupled to the media exchange network.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are disclosed for providing test mode contact pad reconfigurations that expose individual internal functional modules or block groups in an integrated circuit for testing and for monitoring. A plurality of switches between each functional module switches between passing internal signals among the blocks and passing in/out signals external to the block when one or more contact pads are strapped to input a pre-determined value. Another set of switches between the functional modules and input/output contact pads switch between functional inputs to and from the functional modules and monitored signals or input/output test signals according to the selected mode of operation.
Abstract:
Aspects of the invention provide a method and system for communication of information in a distributed media network. The communication of information in a distributed media network may include automatically transferring one or more of media, data and service to a view of a first media processing system and/or a first personal computer within the distributed media network. The transferred media, data and/or service may be subsequently routed from the view of the first media processing system and/or the first personal computer to a view of a second media processing system and/or a second personal computer. The routed media, data and/or service may be consumed by the second media processing system and/or the second personal computer. A consumption rule, transfer rule and/or routing rule may control consumption, transfer and routing of the media, data and/or service. Transfer and/or routing of the media, data and/or service may be scheduled.
Abstract:
A method for establishing secure access to a media peripheral in a home via a node in a communication network includes acquiring by the node, security data associated with the media peripheral; searching by the node, for a previously acquired security data associated with a location of previous operation of the media peripheral; and communicating between the node and the media peripheral, information associated with the media peripheral, while the media peripheral is located in the home, when the previously acquired security data is not found. The security data is a digital certificate. The security data may be read from the media peripheral. The security data may be transferred to a media exchange server coupled to the communication network. The acquired security data may be authenticated prior to the searching. At least one identifier may be established to facilitate communication of the media peripheral over the communication network.
Abstract:
A method for communicating of information in a communication network is disclosed and includes receiving media containing a security code from a first communication device at a third communication device. The security code is acquired by the first communication device from a second communication device. The received media may be routed to the second communication device based on an IP address of the second communication device. The IP address of the second communication device may correspond to the security code. The security code may be translated to the IP address of the second communication device. The security code may be a pin code. A duration for which the security code is valid may be limited to at least one of time and a number of uses.
Abstract:
A communication device, comprising communication interface circuitry, processing circuitry coupled to the communication interface circuitry, and a user interface coupled to the processing circuitry, interacts with a remote device in a communication infrastructure that supports multiple possible communication pathways such as first and second communication pathways between the communication device and the remote device. A data exchange relating to at least a voice delivery service is initiated by the processing circuitry over the first communication pathway. A jog input indication is generated during the data exchange via the user interface in response to a user input, and delivered to the processing circuitry. The jog input indication is indicative of dissatisfaction of the user with ongoing performance of the first communication pathway in the data exchange. In response to the jog input indication received, the processing circuitry switches the data exchange from the first communication pathway to the second communication pathway.
Abstract:
While receiving content for a service at a user device via a particular delivery route, detecting a request for delivery of subsequent content for the service via a secure alternate delivery route. The user device may concurrently receive delivery of the subsequent content via the particular delivery route and the secure alternate delivery route. The detected request may be generated based on QoS associated with the received content of the service. The detected request may be received from a communication network and may comprise identification information for the particular delivery route. The secure alternate delivery route may be determined based on the identification information for the particular delivery route. A communication session profile may be generated and/or determined based on the secure alternate delivery route. The communication session profile is utilized for the requested delivery of the further content via the secure alternate delivery route.
