A wire bonding apparatus 10 including an XYZ drive mechanism 20 for moving a bonding arm 21 that has a bonding capillary 24 at its tip end, an XYZ drive mechanism 30 for driving a plasma arm 31 that has a plasma capillary 40 having a high-frequency coil wound at its tip end portion end, a gas supply unit 60 for supplying gas to the plasma capillary, and a high-frequency power supply unit 80 for supplying high-frequency electric power to the high-frequency coil. With a supply of high-frequency electric power to the high-frequency coil, gas is being a plasma inside the plasma capillary and is ejected from its tip end against a bonding subject 8, thus performing surface treatment on the bonding subject; and using the bonding capillary, bonding is performed interconnectedly with this surface treatment.
Abstract:
An image communication apparatus having an Internet facsimile communication device and a G3 facsimile communication device includes a detector for detecting a facsimile function of a communication partner's apparatus during communication by the G3 facsimile communication device, and a controller for performing control of causing the G3 facsimile communication device to disconnect communication in a G3 facsimile mode and shifting to communication by the Internet facsimile communication device, based on the detection of the facsimile function of the communication partner's apparatus by the detector.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus which is connected to a network (30), and forms an image on the basis of data acquired from the network, upon receiving a URL that designates image data to be acquired from a console, the URL is interpreted, and a data request is submitted to a server via the network on the basis of the interpretation result. Image data sent from the server in response to that data request is stored. If the image data is a JPEG image, an image process that warrants excellent tone reproduction is made; if the image data is a GIF image, an image process that warrants high resolution is made, and the processed image data is output to a printer to print it out.
Abstract:
To achieve the above objects, a communication apparatus for forming and outputting image data on the basis of data received via a network analyzes the contents of received electronic mail and extracts binary data encoded using character codes. The communication apparatus converts the extracted binary data into image data and outputs the data. The communication apparatus requests, where necessary, a server apparatus on the network to convert the binary data into the image data. If the conversion from the binary data into the image data is impossible, the communication apparatus reports this information to the source of the electronic mail in the same session as the electronic mail. The communication apparatus also generates a message from the reported information and transmits the message as electronic mail in a session other than the electronic mail.
Abstract:
An engine start controller shortens the time required from when an operation switch is operated to when an engine is started. The engine start controller controls starting of the engine of a vehicle and power supply to an electric device system. A control unit selectively locks the steering shaft of the vehicle and performs authentication with a portable device, which is carried by a user of the vehicle, for permitting use of the vehicle. An operation switch is connected to the control unit and generates an operation signal when operated by the user. The control unit unlocks the steering shaft in parallel with supplying power to the electric device system when the operation signal is generated and use of the vehicle is permitted through the authentication.
Abstract:
A straight rod form discharge electrode used in a wire bonding apparatus. The electrode core material is covered, except for its tip end, by an alumina film that has been subjected to a pore sealing treatment. The alumina film subjected to the pore sealing treatment is formed by a two-stage process. In the first-stage, an alumina film having a porous structure is formed on the surface of the electrode core material for the thickness of approximately 6 &mgr;m by plasma flame coating method or anodic oxidation method; and in the second-stage, the porous structure is subjected to a pore sealing treatment in which an alumina film is caused to adhere to the porous structure by laser PVD or a pore sealing treatment is performed with a resin.

An image processing apparatus allows a user to obtain only data on a desirable WWW (World Wide Web) server and print the obtained data. The image processing apparatus, which accesses HTML (HyperText Markup Language) data on a WWW server in accordance with designated address information and which prints the HTML data, allows for requesting of a source that specifies the address information an acceptance for the accessing or printing of data other than those data that correspond to the designated address information and that are linked with the pertinent data, and when the acceptance requested cannot be obtained from the source that specifies the address information, halts access or printing of the data other than data that correspond to the designated address information and that are linked with the pertinent data.
Abstract:
A facsimile communication system and a communication apparatus reduce a loss time due to the synchronization of transmission/reception and shorten a communication time. They also shorten a communication time in a full duplex communication mode and allow proper switching of the full duplex communication at the transmission/reception replacement. DIS-CFR signals, EOP-DCN signals, NSS-TSI signals and TSI-DCS signals of a facsimile communication protocol are connected by synchronization signals so that the synchronization signals are sent even after the sending of the protocol signal. Thus, the sending of the synchronization signal for one second when the next protocol signal is sent is not necessary and a time required for the protocol signal is shortened. An ANSam signal to disable a function of an echo suppressor is sent when a call is detected and a calling station thereafter sends a protocol signal and an image signal in a manner not to cause signal interruption of 50 ms or longer, and at transmission/reception replacement at the end of the image signal from the calling station, a called station sends an ANSam signal and sends a protocol signal.

A facsimile section receives and decodes data transmitted through a communication line, converts the received data into dot image data line by line, and further performs resolution conversion of the data using a resolution converter. The data subjected to the resolution conversion is transferred to a printer section through a Centronics interface. When data of an entire line is all white, a white-skip command is transferred for that line. The printer section performs horizontal/vertical conversion of the transferred dot image data and data corresponding to the transferred white-skip command using a horizontal/-vertical converter, the converted data being stored in a scan buffer. When the scan buffer is full of the data for one scan, a recording head is driven to record an image. In an image communicating apparatus comprising the facsimile section and the printer section, the load of the control unit of the facsimile section can be diminished, and the time required for the recording can be reduced, with the above arrangement.
Abstract:
In a recording apparatus with plural sheet cassettes of different sizes, a cassette selecting method consists of calculating cassette information for each cassette based on the length and width of the image to be recorded, comparing the cassette information for the different cassettes and selecting an optimum cassette according to the comparison. The cassette information becomes larger in magnitude as the priority for selection becomes higher, represent various image forming modes.
