Abstract:
A method comprising melt-processing a first composition. The first composition comprises a first fluoropolymer having a relaxation exponent of from 0.93 to 1.0 and a second fluoropolymer having a relaxation exponent of from 0.30 to 0.92. A method comprising melt-processing a first composition, wherein the first composition comprises a first fluoropolymer having an LCBI of from 0 to 0.1 and a second fluoropolymer having an LCBI of at least 0.2. A method comprising melt-processing a first composition, wherein the first composition comprises a core-shell polymer having a first fluoropolymer portion and a second fluoropolymer portion. The extrusion products have a lower width homogeneity index value than observed in state of the art fluo-ropolymers.
Abstract:
A microreplicated article is disclosed. The article includes a web including first and second opposed surfaces. The first surface includes a first microreplicated structure having a plurality of first features. The second surface includes a second microreplicated structure having a plurality of second features. Corresponding opposed features cooperate to form a lens features.
Abstract:
A lens film is used in filtering visible, infrared, and ultraviolet light. The lens film has one or more metallized layers stacked together. Each metallized layer has a substrate with a metal coating covering one face of the substrate. One or more protecting layers are disposed over the stack of metallized layers to provide protection film. The lens film also has an ultraviolet absorbing material, such as an ultraviolet absorbing binder or substrate material. The lens film can be configured so that it meets the American National Standards Institute's shade standards for protection from harmful or intense light. The lens film can be mounted on a lens of an eye protection device. One method of mounting the lens is to provide an adhesive layer over a portion of the lens film and then binding the lens film to the lens with the adhesive layer.
Abstract:
An optical construction includes a reflective polarizer and an optically diffusive film disposed on the reflective polarizer. The reflective polarizer includes an outer layer including a plurality of first particles partially protruding from a first major surface thereof to form a structured major surface. A first optically diffusive layer is conformably disposed on the structured major surface. The optically diffusive film includes a second optically diffusive layer including a plurality of nanoparticles dispersed therein, and a structured layer including a structured major surface. For a substantially normally incident light and a visible wavelength range from about 450 nm to about 650 nm and an infrared wavelength range from about 930 nm to about 970 nm, the second optically diffusive layer has an average specular transmittance Vs in the visible wavelength range and an average specular transmittance Is in the infrared wavelength range, where Is/Vs≥2.5.
Abstract:
A negative active material for rechargeable lithium batteries and a method of manufacturing the negative active material are provided. The negative active material for rechargeable lithium batteries includes at least one generally spherical assembly having flake-shaped materials that are capable of doping and dedoping lithium, and are arranged in a generally spherical shape defining a central pore. The negative active material imparts improved cycle-life characteristics.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge for operatively engaging a manifold having an ejection cam and an insertion cam. The filter cartridge includes a filter element and inlet/outlet portion in fluid communication with the filter element. The inlet/outlet portion extending from one end of the filter. A first lug protruding radially outward from the inlet/outlet portion having a curved surface facing shoulder surface of the filter.
Abstract:
A coating composition is provided comprising a) an aqueous dispersion, having a pH of less than 7.5, of silica nanoparticles having average particle diameters of 40 nanometers or less, b) an alkoxysilane oligomer; c) a silane coupling agent, and d) optionally a metal β-diketone complexing agent. The compositions may be used to prepare coated articles wherein the coating is substantially uniform in thickness, durably adheres to the substrate, and provides hydrophilic and/or antireflection surface properties to the substrate.
Abstract:
Static mixers and fluid systems incorporating one or more of the static mixers. The static mixers include a mixing structure formed within a body, wherein fluid flowing through the mixing structure defines a downstream direction through the mixing structure. The mixing structure includes a series of Y-shaped channels that cross to provide flowpaths that result in efficient mixing.
Abstract:
Presently described is a composition comprising at least one first divalent unit comprising a pendant perfluoropolyether or perfluoroalkyl group; at least one second divalent unit comprising a pendant phosphorus-containing acid group; and at least one third unit comprising a terminal or pendant alkoxy silane group. Also described is a coating comprising the composition described herein dissolved or dispersed in a solvent and a method of providing a coated article or surface. Such method is particularly useful for providing corrosion protection to a metallic surface.
