Abstract: Provided are processes for the formation of electrochemically active materials such as lithiated transition metal oxides that solve prior issues with throughput and calcination. The processes include forming precursor materials into agglomerates prior to calcination. The use of the agglomerates improves gas flow into and out of the materials thereby improving calcination results, electrochemical properties of the resulting materials, and allows for use of high temperature kilns not previously suitable for such materials thereby lowering production costs.

Abstract: The present invention provides a catalyst composition comprising a) platinum; b) rhodium; and c) a ceria-alumina composite, a zirconia composite or a mixture thereof, wherein platinum is supported on the ceria-alumina composite, zirconia composite or mixture thereof, wherein rhodium is supported on the ceria-alumina composite, zirconia composite or mixture thereof, wherein CeO2 in the ceria alumina composite is 1.0 to 50 wt. %, based on the total weight of the ceria-alumina composite, wherein the amount of ZrO2 in the zirconia composite is 50 to 99 wt. %, based on the total weight of the zirconia composite. The present invention also provides a catalytic article comprising the catalyst composition and its preparation.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for preparing a zeolite material having an AFX framework structure including X2O3 and YO2 via interzeolite conversion, the process including (1) providing a mixture including a first zeolite material having a non-FAU framework structure including X2O3 and YO2 and an organic structure directing agent selected from the group consisting of diquaternary ammonium cation containing compounds, and (2) heating the mixture from (1) to form a second zeolite material having an AFX framework structure including X2O3 and YO2, wherein X is a trivalent element and Y is a tetravalent element, and where the organic structure directing agent is not 1,4-bis(1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane)butyl dihydroxide when the first material zeolite has a CHA framework structure. Further disclosed herein is the zeolite material having an AFX framework structure as obtainable or obtained from the process, and a method of using the same as a catalytically active material.
