Abstract: The present disclosure relates to glycoproteins, particularly monoclonal antibodies, comprising a glycoengineered Fc region, wherein said Fc region comprises an optimized N-glycan having the structure of Sia2(α2-6)Gal2GlcNAc2Man3GlcNAc2. The glycoengineered Fc region binds FcγRIIA or FcγRIIIA with a greater affinity, relative to comparable monoclonal antibodies comprising the wild-type Fc region. The monoclonal antibodies of the invention are particularly useful in preventing, treating, or ameliorating one or more symptoms associated with a disease, disorder, or infection where an enhanced efficacy of effector cell function (e.g., ADCC) mediated by FcγR is desired, e.g., cancer, autoimmune, infectious disease, and in enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of therapeutic antibodies the effect of which is mediated by ADCC.

Abstract: Described herein are synthetic glycan conjugates comprising a carrier and a glycan moiety derived from Neisseria meningitidis, wherein the glycan moiety is covalently linked to the carrier through a linker. Also provided herein are a mixture of the glycan conjugates thereof, immmunogenic compositions thereof, and kits thereof. The invention further provides methods of using the synthetic glycan conjugates and immunogenic compositions thereof to treat and/or reduce the risk of infectious diseases such as bacterial infections.

Abstract: Methods for producing virus particles and viral antigens with simplified glycosylation profiles, such as mono-glycosylated forms of HIV, HCV, Dengue virus, West Nile virus and influenza virus. When used as targets for vaccine production, the conserved nature of such sites generate vaccines that are less sensitive to viral mutations. Such methods may include the use of glycosylation inhibitors for production of viruses or viral antigens with simplified glycosylation profiles.

Abstract: An indoor positioning system based on building design information is disclosed. The system includes a server computer to provide indoor position information relating to a building, a plurality of beacons to be installed in selected locations in the building and to broadcast by each beacon an indoor position message indicating the indoor position of the beacon, and an installer to configure the beacons with their corresponding indoor position information. An indoor positioning system development system is also provided. The development system incorporates building information files and provides a development interface for users to determine respective locations to install the beacons. Once completed, the obtained results are converted into an indoor position message for each beacon and configured in the corresponding beacon.

Abstract: Methods and compositions for detection of drug resistant pathogens and treatment against infections thereof are provided. Methods for detection of oseltamivir-resistant influenza viruses by competitive binding assays utilizing non-oseltamivir influenza virus neuraminidase inhibitors and oseltamivir carboxylate are provided. Influenza virus neuraminidase inhibitors coupled to sensors and useful for employment in the methods of the invention are disclosed. Novel phosphonate compounds active as neuraminidase inhibitors against wild-type and oseltamivir-resistant influenza strains of H1N1, H5N1 and H3N2 viruses are disclosed. An enantioselective synthetic route to preparation of these phosphonate compounds via sialic acid is provided.
