Abstract:
This invention provides methods for the treatment, prevention, and/or amelioration of symptoms relating to lower motor neuron diseases (such as spinal muscular atrophy). The methods comprise administration of an agonist anti-trkC antibody. Compositions and kits are also provided.
Abstract:
A Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET) can be fabricated with a well region that include a channel region having an average dopant concentration substantially less the average doping concentration of the remaining portions of the well region. The lower average doping concentration of channel region compared to the remaining portions of the well region reduces the pinch-off voltage of the JFET.
Abstract:
A baseband controller system creates and maintains a schedule of synchronized events and reviews the schedule as a part of determining whether to initiate a transmission of a non-synchronous event. One aspect is to avoid a possibility of collision between synchronized and non-synchronized communication events. The schedule of synchronized events are evaluated in relation to the present time and determine whether a non-synchronized event may be transmitted without the likelihood of a collision. The transmission determination includes evaluating future time periods to see if a synchronized event is scheduled during a time period in which the non-synchronized event would continue to be transmitted for those non-synchronized events that span two or more defined time periods in length.
Abstract:
A mounting system for interfacing a multimedia playback device to an entertainment system of a vehicle. The mounting system includes a sleeve mounted to the vehicle and an insert configured to insert into the sleeve. The multimedia playback device may be an audio player such as a digital audio player, a digital multimedia playback device, a CD or DVD player, or any multimedia playback device suitable for mounting in the mounting system. The insert has an interior configured specifically to hold the shape of the multimedia playback device. A method for using the mounting system is also described.
Abstract:
LDMOS transistor devices and fabrication methods are provided, in which additional dopants are provided to region of a substrate near a thick dielectric between the channel and the drain to reduce device resistance without significantly impacting breakdown voltage. The extra dopants are added by implantation prior to formation of the thick dielectric, such as before oxidizing silicon in a LOCOS process or following trench formation and before filling the trench in an STI process.
Abstract:
Multiple LED matrix array circuit boards are pieced together a form a display panel. L-shape brackets are mounted on the bottom sides of the circuit boards and aligned with the butting edges of the circuit boards. The vertical butting walls are pressed together by clamps. A set screw is inserted in one jaw of the clamp to tighten the pressure between butting edges of the circuit boards. Another set screw is inserted on top of the clamp to align the adjacent boards vertically.
Abstract:
Segmented transistor devices are provided, wherein contiguous individual transistor segments extend along corresponding segment axes, in which two or more of the segment axes are at a non-zero angle with respect to one another. The segmentation of the transistor provides a high overall device aspect ratio which may be easily fit into pre-existing circuit blocks or cells in a device layout, thereby facilitating device scaling.

Abstract:
A document holder is fed into a cassette scanning system. A sensor that is set in the cassette scanning system detects whether the document holder is in the scanning system or not. The scanning system is responsive to the sensor to drive the image sensor to a predetermined position where is exactly over a reference pattern. The reference is formed in the document holder. Next, the image sensor starts to detect whether the document is in the document holder or not. The scanning system is responsive to the signal to drive the image sensor for capturing the image of the document.
Abstract:
A process for producing alkoxylated methyl esters to produce a narrow homolog distribution of the alkoxylate species in which a staring material methyl ester and an alkylene oxide are reacted in the presence of selected calcium based catalysts.
