摘要: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member, an inner member, and at least one inner ring press fit onto a cylindrical portion of a wheel hub. Double row rolling elements are rollably contained between double row outer raceway surfaces and double row inner raceway surfaces. A constant velocity universal joint torque is inserted into the wheel hub. It is axially separably connected to the wheel hub by a securing nut. A shoulder of an outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint abuts against the inner member. An abutting surface of the inner member that abuts the shoulder of an outer joint member is formed so that it does not include a segment of a mirror finished surface with an area exceeding 0.005 mm2.

摘要: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus for supporting a driven wheel of a vehicle has an outer member formed with double row outer raceway surfaces on its inner peripheral surface. An inner member includes a wheel hub with an integrally formed wheel mounting flange at one end of the inner member. A cylindrical portion axially extends from the wheel mounting flange. At least one inner ring, formed with at least one of double row inner raceway surfaces, opposes the double row outer raceway surfaces. The inner ring is adapted to be press-fit onto the cylindrical portion of the wheel hub. Double row rolling elements are freely rollably contained between the outer and inner raceway surfaces, respectively, of the outer and inner members. The inner ring is axially immovably secured relative to the wheel hub by a caulked portion. The caulked portion is formed by plastically deforming the end of the axially extending cylindrical portion radially outward. A partition wall is formed in the axially extending cylindrical portion of the wheel hub at a portion subjected to a load applied to at least the inner raceway surface of an inboard side of the double row inner raceway surfaces. A hollow portion is formed within the cylindrical portion at a portion outboard from the partition wall.

摘要: A wheel support bearing assembly for rotatably supporting a wheel 13 relative to a vehicle body structure 12 includes outer and inner members 1 and 2 with dual rows of rolling elements 3 interposed therebetween. An electric generator 4 for generating an electric power as one of the inner and outer members 1 and 2 rotates relative to the other of the inner and outer members 1 and 2 is utilized. The electric generator 4 includes a coil/magnetic element combination 17, including a ring member accommodating a coil therein, and a multi-pole magnet 18. A signal outputted from the electric generator 4 and indicative of the number of revolutions of the wheel 13 is transmitted wireless by a transmitter 5. This transmitter 5 may be an annular transmitter.

摘要: A wheel bearing includes a sealing device 5 positioned between inner and outer members 1 and 2. This sealing device 5 includes an elastic member 14, which eventually forms an encoder grid and is provided on a first annular sealing plate 11. A second annular sealing plate 12 is provided with sealing lips 16a to 16c. An engagement 18 between a cylindrical wall 11a of the first annular sealing plate 11 and the inner member 1 is provided with an elastic member 20 made of a material dissimilar to that for the elastic material 14. This elastic member 20 may be a rubber coated layer, resin paint layer, a thin film of adhesive material or a ring-shaped rubber member. Thereby, any possible ingress of water across an engagement surface of the annular sealing plate is prevented, accompanied by increase of the lifetime of the bearing, with no problem associated with separation and displacement of the annular sealing plates. The magnetic flux density can also be easily secured.

摘要: In a structure to support wheels freely rotatably in relation to a vehicle body via a bearing section, the bearing section is formed from a tapered roller bearing that has an inner member 1, an outer member 2 fitted on the inner member 1 from the outside and double rows of tapered rollers 3 interposed between the inner member 1 and the outer member 2. The outer member 2 has double raceway surfaces 12 where the tapered rollers 3 move rolling thereon, and hardened layers at least on the raceway surfaces 12 and in relieving recesses 13 thereof. The inner member 1 is formed from a hub 1a having a wheel mounting flange 1a2 and an annular member 1b fixed on the outer circumference of the hub 1a, and has raceway surfaces 12, where the tapered rollers 3 move rolling thereon, formed on the outer circumference of the hub 1a and on the outer circumference of the annular member 1b.

摘要: A hub clutch assembly mounted between an axle and a hub of a four-wheel drive vehicle and having a 2WD/4WD position indicator that is simple in structure. A slide ring is axially slidably mounted on the axle. The slide ring is biased by a spring to a position in which an external gear formed on the slide ring engages an internal gear of an outer ring to maintain 4WD position. A magnet fixed to a cover attracts the slide ring to a 2WD position and keeps it in the 2WD position. The drive mode is changed between the 2WD mode and the 4WD mode by supplying pressure fluid only for a limited time period set by timers. A pressure gauge is provided in a passage for pressure fluid to indicate whether the current drive mode is the 2WD mode or the 4WD mode.

The strain generator members are formed of a single band-shaped strain generator body continuously joining the plurality of sensor units. The at least two fixation contact segments are arranged at the same axial positions and spaced from each other along a circumferential direction of an outer diametric surface of the stationary member. Load on the wheel support bearing assembly is estimated by an estimator based on output signals of the at least two sensors.
