摘要: Disclosed are a polysaccharide derivative obtained by substituting some of the carboxyl groups of a carboxy polysaccharide with —NH—X—CO—Y—Z; and a hydrogel thereof. Here, X is a C1-10 hydrocarbon group, Y is a polyalkylene oxide having oxygen atoms at both ends, and Z is a C1-24 hydrocarbon group or —CO—R2, with R2 being a C1-23 hydrocarbon group. The hydrogel has excellent viscoelasticity and can be injected into a predetermined location with an injection device such as a syringe, and thus can be advantageously used as a medical gel or an adhesion barrier.

摘要: The present invention relates to a ceramic heater which is capable of preventing an electric conduction defect of a heat-generating resistor from being caused by a supplied current, thus being excellent in voltage endurance, and a glow plug containing the ceramic heater. The ceramic heater 2 contained in the glow plug 1 has an insulative ceramic base material 21 and the heat-generating resistor 22 embedded in the insulative ceramic base material. The heat-generating resistor 22 has, as main components, an electrically conductive compound, silicon nitride and a grain boundary amorphous glass phase. The amount of the rare earth element contained in the heat-generating resistor is less than 2% by volume in terms of its oxide and, further, a molar ratio R=(A/A+B) of the mol number A of the amount of the rare earth element in terms of its oxide to a total of the mol number A and a mol number B, which is the amount of excess oxygen in terms of silicon dioxide, is 0.3 or less. By achieving such a constitution, the heat-generating resistor is capable of preventing electric conduction defects and of being excellent in voltage endurance.

摘要: A tappet for an internal combustion engine consists of a tappet main body and a ceramic seat plate brazed to the tappet main body. The tappet main body is made up of a first part made of low carbon steel and a second part made of metal. In manufacture, the first and second parts are first welded together to constitute the tappet main body, and then the ceramic seat is brazed to the tappet main body. The low carbon steel forming the first part of the tappet main body has such a property that when carburized it can be hardened by making use of the heat for the brazing, and the metal forming the second part of the tappet main body has such a property that it can be hardened by making use of the heat for the brazing.

摘要: Ceramic and metal shafts are joined at their ends by brazing, with a buffer member being interposed therebetween. The joined ends of the ceramic and metal shafts and the buffer member are received within a metal sleeve and joined by brazing to part of the inner circumferential wall of the metal sleeve in such a manner than an axial end of the joint where the inner circumferential wall is securely joined to the ceramic and metal shafts is positioned between opposite axial ends of the metal sleeve and at the same time between opposite axial ends of the ceramic shaft. The outer circumferential wall of the metal sleeve is formed with an annular groove in the place corresponding to the above mentioned axial end of the joint with respect to the axial direction of the metal sleeve.

摘要: A wire-cut electric discharge machine, which displays a workable time (T) of a currently used wire electrode (2). A wire length when the wire is mounted on a bobbin (B1) and a wire feed speed are input through a manual input unit (7) and are stored in memory (6). During working (i.e., machining), a CPU (5) calculates a new, remaining wire length (L) from the wire length when the wire is mounted on the bobbin or a remaining wire length (L) and a wire feed speed (V) for predetermined time periods (step S1). A workable time (T) is calculated from the new, remaining wire length (L) and the wire feed speed (V) by the CPU (5), and is displayed by a display unit (8) (steps S2 and S3).
