    摘要: The through tubes (8) are a shrink-fit in through openings in the dome-shaped wall (2). One end (8a) of the tubes which projects from the convex surface of the wall (2) is closed in a fluidtight manner and a wall (18) carrying an electron gun (19) is mounted and fixed in a fluidtight manner on the dome-shaped wall (2) so as to define a fluidtight chamber (24). A low pressure is created in the fluidtight chamber (24) and the electron beam firing axis (19a) of the electron gun (19) is directed along a generatrix of the joint region between a through tube (8) and a through opening in the dome-shaped wall (2). The joint region is scanned by the electron beam by displacing the electron gun (19) in rotation about the axis of the through tube (8). The invention is in particular applicable to the welding of through adapters (8) of a vessel cover (2) of a pressurized water nuclear reactor.

    摘要: A coupling element between tubular shaft sections comprises two mutually adjacent membrane walls, each having radially outer and inner circumferences. The membrane walls are mutually connected at their radially outer circumferences. The radially inner circumferences of the membrane walls are in axial alignment with radially inner circumferences of respective shaft sections, and the membrane walls are connected at their radially inner circumferences to the tubular shaft sections. The radially outer circumferences of the membrane walls are elastically decreasable, and the radially inner circumferences of the membrane walls are elastically expandable in response to axial forces applied to the membrane walls in axially opposite directions.

    摘要: An electron beam welding chamber for butt joining elongate members 1,2 extending longitudinally at the center of the chamber. The chamber comprises an envelope 7 defining the welding enclosure 6 and which rests on a fixed structure 8. The electron gun equipment 13 is provided within the envelope and is mechanically connected, by a withdrawable connection means 18 or by elastic connection means 24, 25, to the enclosure, clamping means 15 being provided for clamping the electron gun equipment relative to one of the elongate members. This invention is particularly applicable to the welding of the sections of a pipe to be laid on the sea bed.
