摘要: A magnetic recording medium includes a substrate, an underlayer provided on the substrate, a Co alloy magnetic film formed through the underlayer, and a protective film for protecting the magnetic film, wherein the underlayer has a two-layer structure of an lower underlayer contacted with the substrate and an upper underlayer contacted with the Co alloy magnetic film, the upper underlayer is a Co—Crx—My alloy film having a hexagonal close-packed structure, where 25 atomic %≦x+y≦50 atomic %, 0.5 atomic %≦y, nonmagnetic element M is one selected from the group of elements B, Si, Ge, C, Al, P, Ti, V, Nb, Zr, Hf, Mn, Rh, Os, Ir, Re, Pd, Pt, Mo, Ta, W, Ag and Au. Thereby the medium can be increased in its coercive force and can be improved in its thermal stability characteristics.

摘要: A motor comprises a stator core having plural teeth and slots provided among the teeth, a winding applied on the teeth by a turn, and a rotor incorporating plural permanent magnets. The rotor is rotated and driven by utilizing reluctance torque in addition to magnetic torque. Since the winding is not crossed, the size of the coil end is reduced.

摘要: A laminated capacitor that can be made small in size, that can prevent flashover, has excellent dielectric strength performance and a large capacitance is disclosed. Each gap between internal electrodes in the same plane is set at 2.7 to 20 times a thickness (element thickness) of a dielectric layer positioned between first and second internal electrode groups which face each other and a distance between an edge of the external terminal and an edge of the floating internal electrode closest to the external terminal among floating internal electrodes of the internal electrode group of the outermost layer is set at 0.4 mm to 1.4 mm.

摘要: A film 12 with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and a protective film 13 are formed over a single-crystal substrate 11. This substrate is made of either a single crystal having a hexagonal crystal structure and a plane (0001) in parallel with the substrate plane or a single crystal having a cubic crystal structure and a plane (111) in parallel with the substrate plane, and the film is epitaxially grown such that its easy axis of magnetization is perpendicular to the substrate plane. As a result, the film can have its perpendicular orientation and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy improved to effect a perpendicular magnetic recording of high density thereby to provide the perpendicular magnetic recording media, of which the film has a remarkably enhanced orientation.

摘要: With a view to reduce vibrations generated by a motor and improve resistance to heat, reliability and vibration isolation properties without increasing the cost or the number of manufacturing steps in a rotor for a permanent-magnet motor, a rotor core is formed of an outer peripheral portion by which the permanent magnet is fixed, and a central portion by which a shaft is fixed, a clearance is provided between the outer peripheral portion and the central portion, and the outer peripheral portion is connected to the central portion by means of a plurality of fastening members. Thus, a rotor having excellent vibration isolation properties can be obtained. Since the rotor core is formed of laminated iron plates on which the outer peripheral portion, the central portion and the fastening members are all formed as one piece, resistance to heat, reliability and the vibration isolation properties can be enhanced without increasing the cost or the number of manufacturing steps.

摘要: A combination apparatus having a scanning electron microscope includes equipment for performing any of observing, measuring and processing operations on a sample placed in a sample chamber. The sample chamber contains a focused electron beam irradiating unit apart from the components for performing the observing, measuring and processing operations. The focused electron beam irradiating unit irradiates a finely focused electron beam onto the surface of the sample for electron microscopic observation in scanning fashion. This setup allows the observing, measuring or processing equipment to combine with the scanning electron microscope without appreciably enlarging the construction of the combination apparatus.

摘要: An atomic force microscope is provided for sensing displacement of a cantilever based on scanning tunneling microscopy. The atomic force microscope includes a cantilever moving system which allows the cantilever to be moved or slipped between an STM tip and a sample. This results in the microscope being able to carry out atomic force microscopy and tunneling microscopy without changing a single STM tip and to control the very small force between the sample and the tip to be constant.
