This can be done by: a) Physically breaking down the Chia seed into smaller particles; b) Adding a liquid carrier to the broken Chia seed to form a Chia liquid carrier blend; c) Optionally providing further processing of the Chia liquid carrier blend to further reduce the particle size of the Chia particles d) Optionally centrifuging the Chia liquid carrier blend; e) Optionally forming at least three discernible layers of materials within the centrifuged Chia liquid carrier blend; f) Optionally separating the composition of at least one layer from remaining layers; and g) Optionally combining the separated layers together into a desired combination/ratios h) Drying the separated layers or combined layers into a flowable powder.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a biscuit comprising guar gum characterized in that said guar gum is a native guar gum with a length between 0.25 and 8 mm, a width between 0.18 and 2 mm and an average length to width ratio between 1.8 and 6. The invention also relates to the use of said biscuit to help control the blood glucose level in healthy subjects or in subjects suffering from insulino-resistance or diabetes and especially type-2 diabetes and/or to actively lower blood LDL-cholesterol concentration or to maintain normal blood cholesterol concentrations for healthy subjects or subjects at risk of cardiovascular disease. The invention also relates to the use of said biscuit to increase the feelings of satiety, and/or to decrease the food intake and/or to contribute to weight management.

    摘要: Reducing the digestion of digestible carbohydrates in a digestible carbohydrate-based material, and reducing the absorption of the digestion product(s) of digestible carbohydrates (that is, simple sugars) within the small intestine. The undigested digestible carbohydrate and the unabsorbed digestion products pass through the small intestines and into the colon, where they are fermented. In effect, the food materials made by practicing the present invention cause a controlled amount of digestible carbohydrate to by-pass the small intestine, resulting in the fermentation of digestible carbohydrates in the colon. The invention also provides for processing of a digestible carbohydrate-based ingredient with a non-digestible food film material, to form a reduced digestible carbohydrate food having a protective food film network, which can inhibit or prevent digestion of the digestible carbohydrate.
