摘要: Embodiments provide implant housings (IH) having embedded suture anchors comprising a suture anchor loop (SAL) with an anchoring element each end. The SAL allows a suture to be passed through the loop to anchor the housing to selected tissue. Particular embodiments provide IHs having embedded sutures wherein the suture is embedded in a cured portion (CP) of the housing wall (HW). The suture may be part of a suture assembly having a first and second end portion (EP) and a mid-portion (MP) each of the EP's including an anchoring portion (AP). At least a portion of the HW comprises a cured portion (CP). The first and second SA EP's are embedded in the CP such that the MP forms a loop extending out from the HW outer surface. The embedded AE is configured such that a force for pulling the suture out of the CP exceeds a suture tensile strength.

摘要: A tissue thickness compensator can comprise a compensator body and at least one vessel contained in the compensator body. The vessel can define an inner cavity which can comprise an inner atmosphere having a pressure which is lower than the atmospheric pressure of the atmosphere surrounding the tissue thickness compensator. In at least one embodiment, the vessel and the compensator body can be maintained in a collapsed state until staples are fired through the vessel. At such point, the vessel can re-expand and apply a biasing force to tissue captured within the staples.

摘要: A buttress assembly is configured to temporarily adhere to a wet surgical stapler end effector. The buttress assembly includes a buttress body and a humidity tolerant adhesive material. The humidity tolerant adhesive material is applied to at least one side of the buttress body. The humidity tolerant adhesive material is configured to hold the buttress body to an underside of an anvil or a deck of a staple cartridge for at least five minutes in an environment of 100% relative humidity at approximately 37° C.

摘要: A substrate having an undulating surface forming a series of rounded peaks and valleys that produce a continuously curving surface across at least a portion of the substrate. The undulating surface defines a first set of micro features. A second set of micro features molded on the first set of micro features. The substrate is a compression molded polymeric material in which the first and second sets of micro features are formed on the substrate during a single molding step, and wherein the first and second sets of micro features cooperate to increase the surface area and affect at least one of adhesion, friction, hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the substrate.
