摘要: There is disclosed a collector for machine fluids, comprising a mat having a perimeter wall upstanding therefrom, the mat and/or the wall comprising oleophilic material and the wall being water-permeable, so that water falling into the collector within the perimeter wall can escape therefrom, while the machine fluids are retained by said oleophilic material and wherein the collector comprises at least one composite component for machine fluid retention comprising at least three layers wherein at least one layer comprises activated carbon and wherein this layer is secured within the composite between two layers of porous material mechanically bonded to each other, preferably via needle punching, through the activated carbon layer. The collector has high efficiency in removing PAHs and other aromatics from oil/fuel contaminated water.

摘要: The invention relates to a multi-layer composite for use in an air filter, comprising at least one upstream ply and a support ply that is connected to the upstream ply. The upstream ply is made of a non-woven fabric and has a finer porosity than the support ply. The aim of the invention is to form and further develop a multi-layer composite for use in an air filter, in particular in a filter bag in such a manner that the upstream ply can be connected in a stable and economical manner to the support ply. The invention is characterised in that the upstream ply is embodied as a spun bonded non-woven, the continuous filaments of which are at least partially twisted or interwoven with the support ply.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a depth filter medium comprising at least one elastomeric nonwoven web strengthened by combination with one or more structural support layers. The resulting material is particularly useful in the field of filtration, wherein particulates captured within the elastomeric nonwoven web can be readily released, such as by applying pressure to the web through backwashing. The elastomeric nonwoven web advantageously can stretch under such pressure and return substantially to its original structure and shape upon the removal of the pressure, rendering the filter available for reuse.

摘要: This invention concerns coatings having high surface area materials and at least one metal ion adsorbed onto the high surface area material as well as substrates having the coating and methods of applying the coating. The substrates may be films, woven fabrics or may be nonwoven fabrics. The coatings have good odor and/or gas absorbing capabilities. Nonwoven fabrics include tissues, towels, coform materials, bonded carded webs, spunbond fabrics and so forth. The substrates may be made into storage and packaging material to reduce odor and retard the ripening of fruit. The substrates may be used in personal care products, to produce clothing for military and civilian applications and many other applications.

摘要: Acene-thiophene compounds are disclosed that are useful as organic semiconductors. The compounds, when used as the semiconductor layer in organic thin-film transistors exhibit device characteristics, like charge-carrier mobilities and current on/off ratios, that are comparable to those of pentacene. Also described are semiconductor devices comprising at least one compound of the invention; and articles comprising the semiconductor devices such as thin film transistors or transistor arrays, and electroluminescent lamps.

摘要: A porous polymeric sheet is provided having an electrostatic charge and comprising a zero-three composite of a polymeric matrix and a ferroelectric material dispersed therein. The polymeric component comprises a non-polar thermoplastic polymer, such as a polyolefin, and a second thermoplastic polymer having polar functional units, such as a telomer. The composite material is formed into a porous sheet and is electrically or corona poled to create an electret material which is well suited four use in various filtration, air-masking and dust wipe applications.

摘要: An infusion system for delivery of therapeutic fluids from a remote source into a patient's body. The system has an infusion assembly, a rotating pivot joint member, a fluid connector assembly, and a sealing assembly retained within the infusion assembly between the housing of the infusion assembly and the rotating pivot joint member. The seal reduces leakage of fluids. The rotating joint may be pivoted to three distinct positions to allow for emplacement on the patient, delivery of the therapeutic fluid to the patient, and protected, sealed closure of the fluid channels to avoid patient fluid backflow.
