Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for detecting the presence of a digital media device on a network are provided. In some embodiments, methods for detecting a presence of a particular type of digital media device is provided, the methods comprising: identifying cached device details for devices previously associated with the network; performing a simple device discovery protocol (SSDP) on the network, and substantially concurrently sending a unicast message to an address associated with the identified cached digital media device using hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP); and indicating the presence of a digital media device on the network in response to either (i) receiving a response to the unicast message, or (ii) determining that a type of a device discovered using SSDP is the same as the particular device type.

Abstract: A modular and distributed architecture for data stream processing and analysis is described to incorporate data stream analytics capabilities, called Data Stream Analytics Service (DSAS) in the IoT/M2M service layer. Each service layer node hosting DSAS can be split into two independent modules, Stream Forwarder and Stream Analytics Engine. Stream Forwarder is a light weight processing modules that can be responsible for data preprocessing and routing. Stream Analytics Engine is responsible for performing actual analytics on the data stream. Separating the two functionalities enables the service layer nodes to efficiently distribute stream analytics tasks across multiple nodes.

Abstract: A system and method for capturing a location based experience at an event including a plurality of mobile devices having a camera employed near a point of interest to capture random, crowdsourced images and associated metadata near said point of interest. In a preferred form, the images include depth camera information from prepositioned devices around the point of interest during the event. A network communicates images, depth information, and metadata to build a 3D model of the region, preferably with the location of contributors known. Users connect to this experience platform to view the 3D model from a user selected location and orientation and to participate in experiences with, for example, a social network.

Abstract: Data are maintained in a distributed computing system that describe a graph. The graph represents relationships among items. The graph has a plurality of vertices that represent the items and a plurality of edges connecting the plurality of vertices. At least one vertex of the plurality of vertices includes a set of label values indicating the at least one vertex's strength of association with a label from a set of labels. The set of labels describe possible characteristics of an item represented by the at least one vertex. At least one edge of the plurality of edges includes a set of label weights for influencing label values that traverse the at least one edge. A label propagation algorithm is executed for a plurality of the vertices in the graph in parallel for a series of synchronized iterations to propagate labels through the graph.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to providing at least one response to a user of a user device using a visual assistant, wherein the response is based on at least one user query. In an embodiment, the virtual assistant system receives the user query through a virtual multimedia contact, wherein the virtual multimedia contact is invoked by receiving a user command from the user through an interface. Thereafter, the virtual assistant system determines the response based on the user query. Further, the virtual assistant system selects a visual assistant (e.g., virtual character) for representing the response and subsequently provides the response to the user device using the visual assistant by transmitting the response to the user device using the visual assistant.

The first keyword is provided for presentation in the search page.

Abstract: A computer network implemented system for improving the operation of one or more biofeedback computer systems is provided. The system includes an intelligent bio-signal processing system that is operable to: capture bio-signal data and in addition optionally non-bio-signal data; and analyze the bio-signal data and non-bio-signal data, if any, so as to: extract one or more features related to at least one individual interacting with the biofeedback computer system; classify the individual based on the features by establishing one or more brain wave interaction profiles for the individual for improving the interaction of the individual with the one or more biofeedback computer systems, and initiate the storage of the brain waive interaction profiles to a database; and access one or more machine learning components or processes for further improving the interaction of the individual with the one or more biofeedback computer systems by updating automatically the brain wave interaction profiles based on detecting one or more defined interactions between the individual and the one or more of the biofeedback computer systems. A number of additional system and computer implemented method features are also provided.
