    摘要: A power supply device includes rectangular battery cells 1, resin separators 2, end spacers 17, thick metal end plates 10, and coupling members 11. The separator 2 is inserted between the cells 1 to insulate adjacent cells 1 from each other, and in thermal contact with the cells 1. The end spacers 17 cover end battery cells 1 on the opposed end surfaces of a battery block composed of the cells 1 and the separators 2 alternately arranged. The end plates 10 cover the surfaces of the end spacers 17. The coupling members 11 couple the end plates 10 to each other. The separators 2 form gaps 4 for flowing air along the surfaces of the cells 1 in contact with the separators 2. The end spacers 17 have hollow layers 18 on their surfaces in contact with the cells 1, and define closed chambers.

    摘要: The present invention is directed toward a laminated electrode and porous separator film combination including a solid electrolyte salt within the porous separator film, the combination comprising layer of powdered cathode material adhering to a surface of a separator film with a solid electrolyte therebetween; the separator film comprising 50% to 95% by weight of electrically non-conductive ceramic fibers having a coating of magnesium oxide on the surface of the fibers in an amount in the range of 5% to 50% by weight; wherein the ceramic fibers comprise Al2O3, AlSiO2, BN, AlN, or a mixture of two or more of the foregoing; and the magnesium oxide coating interconnects the ceramic fibers providing a porous network of magnesium oxide-coated fibers having a porosity of not less than 50% by volume; the pores of the network containing a solid electrolyte salt in an amount of up to 95% by volume based on pore volume of the network.

    摘要: A gasket is for use in a starved electrolyte bipolar battery. The gasket may be made from a hydrophobic material in the shape of a frame to prevent the creation of an electrolyte path between adjacent cells when mounted in a battery. The frame may be designed to at least partially encompass a biplate when mounted in a bipolar battery, and include a device or way to permit gas passage through the gasket. The gasket may be made from a material with deformable properties to provide a sealing to a biplate and/or endplate when mounted in a bipolar battery, whereby an outer pressure tight seal of the battery may be obtained. A starved bipolar battery and a method for manufacturing a starved bipolar battery are also disclosed.

    摘要: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for batch fabrication of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery using a silicon substrate as an anode. In one aspect, a pre-formed silicon substrate is provided. A plurality of first openings can be formed on one side of the substrate, which can have a high height to width aspect ratio. A plurality of second openings can be formed alternatingly, or in interdigitated fashion, with the first openings on another side of the substrate that is opposite the first side. A solid electrolyte layer can be deposited on the second side of the substrate in the second openings, and a cathode material can be formed into the second openings and over the electrolyte layer on the second side of the substrate.

    摘要: A battery module includes a plurality of battery assemblies stacked together. Each of the battery assemblies includes an insulating case which accommodates a plurality of cells. A first connection plate connects the same polarities of the cells, and a second connection plate connects polarities opposite the same polarities of the cells. The first connection plate includes a first connection terminal which protrudes in a direction opposite a direction toward the second connection plate. The second connection plate includes a second connection terminal which protrudes in a direction toward the first connection terminal. The first connection terminal protrudes outwardly of the case. The second connection terminal protrudes inwardly of the case. In the battery assemblies adjacent to each other in a stacking direction, the first connection terminal of one battery assembly and the second connection terminal of the other battery assembly are fitted to each other. The first connection terminal of one battery assembly protrudes inwardly of the case of the other battery assembly.
