    摘要: An ink and print media cartridge for a printer device includes a print media housing assembly configured for insertion and removal to and from the printer device, the print media housing assembly having a top molding coupled to a bottom molding and a print media storage volume defined therebetween; an ink housing assembly attached to an outer surface of the bottom molding, the ink housing assembly defining an ink chamber with the outer surface of the bottom molding; a spring provided between the top molding and the bottom molding, the spring positioned to bear on one side against the top molding and on an opposite side against print media stored in the print media storage region; and a feed mechanism provided within the print media housing, the feed mechanism having a drive gear protruding externally from the print media housing. The drive gear is positioned to engage with a complimentary drive mechanism of the printer device upon insertion of the print media housing into the printer device.

The pressure-diffusing structure is configured for diffusing pressure pulses in ink supplied to the ink chamber via the ink inlet.

    摘要: A method of dispensing a product item is disclosed. The product item has packaging. On the packaging are a number of coded data portions. Each coded data portion encodes an identity of the product item and a part of a signature. A sensing device senses one or more coded data portions and generate indicating data indicative of: the identity of the product item; a signature part; and a signature part identifier. A processor receiving the indicating data from the sensing device then determines a determined signature part and authenticates the product item by comparing the received signature part and the determined signature part. Further, a criterion for dispensing the product item is determined and the product item is caused to be dispensed based on the criterion being satisfied.

    摘要: A printer is provided having a printhead assembly having a carrier frame, a pagewidth printhead with a corresponding pagewidth print zone defined by a plane adjacent the printhead assembly mounted at a base of the carrier frame, an approach guide mounted to the carrier frame on a first side of the printhead and an exit guide mounted to the carrier frame on a second side of the printhead, and a feed mechanism for continuously feeding a web of print media through the print zone. The web is unsupported in the print zone and is guided therethrough by the guides. The approach guide curves about the carrier frame base to terminate upstream with a leading angular edge abutting with the web such that the natural path of the web is deflected downwards and around the approach guide, and the exit guide curves about the carrier frame base to terminate downstream.
