In an embodiment, the present invention is an apparatus, comprising: a foot mat; a depth sensing camera; an elevated foot platform that reduces or prevents rotational movement of a foot; a processor in communication with the depth sensing camera, the processor further configured to calculate the circumference of a user's leg based on data from the depth sensing camera while the user has one foot on the foot mat and one foot on the elevated foot platform, the processor further configured to select a recommended product for the user's knee or ankle from among a set of pre-manufactured candidate products for knees or ankles based at least in part upon the leg circumference of the user; and an output device to display information received from the processor, the information identifying the recommended product to the user.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for ventral only ablation of the tongue, for use in treating sleep apnea and related breathing disorders. An RF ablation probe or wand is inserted in ventral surface of a patient's tongue in a superior plane along a longitudinal (i.e., anterior to posterior) axis of the tongue, to a predetermined depth. The wand is withdrawn, RF energy is applied, creating a lesion predominantly in the interior of the tongue in an anterior to posterior plane, thereby resulting in less scarring but appreciable movement of the posterior tongue base away from the posterior pharyngeal wall. Also disclosed is a tongue retractor device used for measuring the depth of wand insertion, lifting the tongue to expose the ventral surface of the tongue for the procedure, and providing a stop surface to inhibit further wand insertion.

A method and system for monitoring buildings (including houses and office buildings) by performing video content analysis based on two-dimensional image data and depth data are disclosed. Occupation and use of such buildings may be monitored with higher accuracy to provide higher energy efficiency usage, to control operation of components therein, and/or provide better security. Height data may be obtained from depth data to provide greater reliability in object detection, object classification and/or event detection.
Abstract:
A postural feedback device for assisting user awareness of joint, muscle, or body part alignment is disclosed. Embodiments include at least one linear or rotary sensing unit comfortably and discretely adhered to the user's skin, a hardwire connection cable or wireless transmission sending unit, and an electronic console for interpretation of information from the sensing unit and biofeedback of said information via stimulus to the user. The postural feedback device may comprise multiple sensing units of various sizes simultaneously allowing for variations in application, user size, and size of body part being monitored. The electronic console may provide biofeedback to the user in the form of tactile, auditory, visual, or other stimuli, aiding the user in awareness of postural alignment or instruction of a desired anatomical movement. The sensing unit may be constructed allowing a low-profile, comfortable fit, allowing the device to be worn discreetly underneath clothing.

The present invention relates to a selection assisting method including a first selection step of selecting a recommended grip from a plurality of types of grips based on information on a hand size of a testing golfer; a measurement step of measuring by using a measurement device a swing characteristic of the testing golfer in a shot by using a golf club to which the recommended grip selected in the first selection step is attached; and a second selection step of selecting a recommended grip from the plurality of types of grips based on a measurement result in the measurement step.
