Abstract:
The measurement of glutaraldehyde-based biocides in seawater without the use of a derivatization agent. The measurement of glutaraldehyde-based biocides in seawater may be performed without additional components to reduce background interferences. The concentration of a glutaraldehyde-based biocides in a seawater sample is determined using reversed phase liquid chromatography and a gradient mobile phase of acetonitrile and deionized water. Systems for determining the concentration of glutaraldehyde-based biocide in a seawater injection system are also provided.
Abstract:
This invention provides a method that is capable of detecting a trifluridine-related substance and a tipiracil-related substance contained in a sample containing trifluridine or a salt thereof and tipiracil or a salt thereof using the same procedure. The method is for detecting a trifluridine-related substance or a tipiracil-related substance or both, the method comprising the step of subjecting a sample containing trifluridine or a salt thereof and tipiracil or a salt thereof to high-performance liquid chromatography using a mobile phase composed of an organic phase and an aqueous phase.
Abstract:
A packing material for liquid chromatography, which is excellent in durability, and a column for liquid chromatography, which is filled with the packing material, are provided. The packing material for liquid chromatography is characterized by comprising a hydrophilic resin containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin, to said hydrophilic resin an amino group represented by the formula (1) having been bonded through a spacer. In the formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and having one or more hydroxyl groups, and represents a bonding position to the spacer.
Abstract:
A number of analytes are divided into groups based on at least either the elution position determined by silica gel column chromatography under the same condition or the partition ratio in a hexane-acetonitrile partition method. To each group, a compound obtained by labeling one of the compounds in the group by deuterium and/or carbon is assigned as the surrogate. After those surrogates are added as internal standard substances to a standard sample for the creation of calibration curves, a GC/MS analysis for the sample is performed and a calibration curve is created for each analyte. In the measurement of an unknown sample, the same set of surrogates are added to the sample and the GC/MS analysis is performed. A quantitative determination processor determines the quantity of each analyte by comparing a peak area ratio calculated from the analysis result with a calibration curve read from the database.
Abstract:
A microcolumn for use in gas chromatography comprises a self-supporting polymer body that functions as a stationary phase and a structural support. The polymer body comprises an enclosed channel having a length L, height h and width w extending therethrough and one or more channel walls surrounding the enclosed channel. The one or more channel walls are integrally formed with the polymer body. The polymer body and the one or more channel walls may comprise a phase-separated polymer composition.
Abstract:
A chemical detector for rapid, simultaneous detection of multiple chemicals including chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and explosives having one or more gas chromatography columns each with a chemosorbent or a chemo-reactive stationary phase and an infrared-transparent base, a bright infrared light source, a mechanism to direct the light source to any point along any of the columns, and an infrared sensor. Another disclosed detector has one or more gas chromatography columns each on the surface of a substrate having at least one infrared-transparent waveguide pattern, a bright infrared light source, and at least one ring resonator for each column, where each ring resonator is coated with a chemosorbent or a chemo-reactive stationary phase, and where each ring resonator spectroscopically probes the stationary phase. Also disclosed are the related methods for chemical detection.
Abstract:
Described is an affinity microcolumn comprising a high surface area material, which has high flow properties and a low dead volume, contained within a housing and having affinity reagents bound to the surface of the high surface area material that are either activated or activatable. The affinity reagents bound to the surface of the affinity microcolumn further comprise affinity receptors for the integration into high throughput analysis of biomolecules.
