摘要: A method and apparatus for forwarding detected environmental conditions are provided herein. During operation, sensors will continuously sample an environment surrounding a public-safety officer. The sensors are preferably body-worn sensors, but could be vehicle or incident area sensors as well. The sensors continuously monitor and report any detected condition to a hub (which could be body-worn) as a local status alert message. Once the hub receives a detected condition within a local status alert, the hub will make a determination if a dispatch center needs to be notified of the detected condition. The notification of the condition is transmitted to the dispatch center as a global status alert, which may simply comprise a forwarded local status alert.

摘要: Provided are mechanisms and processes for more effectively monitoring infant caregiving to enhance caregiving and infant development. A system may include multiple sensors, a transmission interface, and a wearable casing. The multiple sensors gather measurement data associated with activity of a caregiver. The transmission interface transmits the measurement data detected by the plurality of sensors to a remote monitoring hub, where proximity of the caregiver to an infant can be determined based on the measurement data. The wearable casing is configured to house the multiple sensors and the transmission interface.

摘要: Provided are mechanisms and processes for predicting infant sleep patterns. Measurement data is received from multiple infant monitoring systems. The multiple infant monitoring systems each include an infant monitoring device and an infant monitoring hub. The infant monitoring device is configured to gather measurement data for an infant and the monitoring hub is configured to process the measurement data. The measurement data is analyzed to identify sleep patterns associated with the plurality of infant monitoring systems. The sleep patterns include sleep transitions, wake transitions, sleep durations, and wake durations over a period of time for infants of various ages. A model is generated based on the sleep patterns associated with infants of various ages. The model is used to predict upcoming sleep patterns for a first infant based on recent measurement data associated with the first infant.

摘要: A method, apparatus, and/or system for monitoring a user and transmitting an emergency notification is disclosed. The apparatus can monitor a user's overall wellness and adherence to a therapy regimen. The apparatus can also detect a variety of emergency situations affecting the user. For example, the apparatus can detect a fall affecting the user, the activation of an emergency indicator by the user, or an emergency based on vital signs and the overall wellness of the user. The apparatus can generate and transmit an alert notification in response to determining an emergency is affecting the user. The apparatus can select the form of the alert and the network on which to transmit the alert. The apparatus can determine the form of the alert and the network based on the severity of the emergency and the strength of the networks available to the apparatus. The form of the alert and the transmission network selected can optimize the likelihood of the alert notification being successfully transmitted.

摘要: Apparatus for detection of human falls comprises: an acceleration detector, for detecting vibration events, typically placed on a floor, a microphone, located in association with the acceleration detector for detection of corresponding sound events, and a classification unit to classify concurrent events from the microphone and the acceleration detector, thereby to determine whether a human fall is indicated. If the event appears to be a human fall, then an alarm is raised.
