摘要: A method, computer program product and system for displaying images during the execution of an application. A developer of an application inserts application hooks at particular locations in the code of the application to be executed. An application hook could be a call to a function in a utility code where the call includes the passing of a “key name”. The called function may retrieve an image located at an image file name in a configuration file associated with the key name if such an image file exists. Presentations that demonstrate the execution of the application may be easily modified by adding, deleting or replacing images at these file names. These modifications may be made without modifying the code of the application being executed. In this manner, different images used in different presentations may be displayed to different targeted audiences without modifying the code of the executed application.

摘要: A method of forming a pot for an array of hollow fibre membranes (7) is provided, including the steps of placing the ends (6) of the fibre membranes (7) in a mould (5); forming a first layer (20) of curable resin material in a non-cured state around the fibre membrane ends (6), applying a second layer (21) of a polyurethane resin material to the first layer (20) prior to full curing of the first layer, the polyurethane resin material layer being chemically reactive with the first layer material to form an adhesive bond therebetween; at least partially curing both layers and removing the pot formed from the mould (5), wherein the second layer material is of higher flexibility than the first layer material when each layer is fully cured. Apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed.

摘要: The invention provides methods of analyzing genes for differential relative allelic expression patterns. Haplotype blocks throughout the genomes of individuals are analyzed to identify haplotype patterns that are associated with specific differential relative allelic expression patterns. Haplotype blocks that contain associated haplotype patterns may be further investigated to identify genes or variants of genes involved in differential relative allelic expression patterns.

摘要: The process for the production of a dimeric, biologically active Transforming Growth Factor type .beta. (TGF-.beta.)-like protein or a salt thereof, comprising refolding the denatured monomeric form of the protein in the presence of a mild detergent that permits folding of the monomeric protein into a spatial conformation, which after dimerization, is the conformation associated with the biological activity, while retaining the monomeric protein in soluble form. Mild detergents include sulfobetaines, 3-(3-chlolamidopropyl)dimethylammonio-1-propanesulfonate, 3-(3-chlolamidopropyl)dimethylammonio-2-hydroxy-1-propane-sulfonate, digitonin, cholate and deoxycholate at a concentration of about 1 to 100 mM. Compositions containing a TGF-.beta.-like protein produced according the invention can be used for the promotion and acceleration of wound healing and bone and tissue repair, cancer treatment, bone marrow protective agent, as a mediator of cardio-protection, as an anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive agent, or as a growth regulator in mammalian cell cultures.
