摘要： A drive arrangement for an engine of an outboard motor including a cowling and a water propulsion device is disclosed. The engine is positioned in the cowling and has a body having a top end and a bottom end and defining at least one combustion chamber. The engine has a generally vertically extending crankshaft having a bottom end in driving relation with the water propulsion device and a top end extending above the top end of the body of the engine, the engine including an intake system including an intake passage through which air is provided to each combustion chamber, at least one intake valve for controlling the flow through the intake passage, and an intake camshaft for actuating the intake valve(s). The engine also includes an exhaust system including an exhaust passage leading from each combustion chamber, at least one exhaust valve for controlling the flow of exhaust through the exhaust passage, and an exhaust camshaft for actuating the exhaust valve(s). The drive arrangement includes a flywheel positioned on the crankshaft adjacent the top end of the engine and a camshaft drive pulley positioned on the crankshaft above the flywheel, the camshaft drive pulley driving a first flexible transmitter which drives a driven pulley connected to at least one of the camshafts, the crankshaft further arranged to drive a second flexible transmitter which drives a pulley associated with an engine accessory such as an alternator.

The inverter unit and controller unit are disposed behind the backlight unit and the power supply unit is disposed on a side of the display unit, backlight unit, inverter unit and controller unit. The display unit, backlight unit, inverter unit, controller unit and power supply unit are disposed in a common housing. The inverter unit and the controller unit are arranged behind the backlight unit. An insulating member is further disposed between the power supply unit and the display unit at a position corresponding to a region of relatively large exothermic heat of the power supply unit, and the insulating member is disposed at a diagonal position with respect to the inverter unit. The display apparatus may be supported by a support structure including vertically tilting and laterally turning mechanisms.

摘要： An induction system for an outboard motor of the type having a water propulsion device powered by an internal combustion engine positioned within an engine compartment defined by a cowling, is disclosed. The induction system includes a cover extending over a top end of the engine. The cover defines an air duct leading from an intake chamber defined by the cowling to an intake pipe of the air intake system of the engine. The cover also defines an air duct in communication with the engine compartment and leading to an exhaust chamber defined by the cowling. A pair of intake ports lead through a cover of the cowling from the intake chamber, and an exhaust port leads through the cover from the exhaust chamber. The intake ports are positioned forward of the exhaust port when considering the forward movement of a watercraft which is powered by the motor.

摘要： A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine of the type utilized to power an outboard motor of a watercraft is disclosed. The engine is oriented with its crankshaft vertically extending, such that the engine has a top and a bottom, a first end and a second end, and a side between the ends. An air delivery passage extends generally from the first end along said side to an intake passage leading through the engine to a combustion chamber therein. A fuel injector is positioned along the side of the engine and arranged to deliver fuel into air flowing through the passage. In one arrangement, the fuel injector is connected to an intake manifold defining at least a part of the air delivery passage and is adapted to deliver fuel opposite the flow of air through the passage at the point of delivery. In a second embodiment, the fuel injector is positioned between the air delivery passage and the side of the engine. In this embodiment, the fuel injector is preferably arranged to deliver fuel perpendicular to the flow of air through the passage.

摘要： An electric circuit substrate having a multilayer structure is constituted from at least three wiring layers including an outermost wiring layer, at least one first inner wiring layer disposed under the outermost wiring layer, and a second inner wiring layer disposed under the at least one first inner wiring layer, each provided with a prescribed conductor pattern, respectively. In the multilayer structure, the outermost wiring layer has an alignment mark, the above-mentioned at least one first inner wiring layer has a blank portion free from its conductor pattern in a position immediately under the alignment mark, and the second inner wiring layer has an entire solid portion of its conductor pattern in a position immediately under the blank portion. The above multilayer structure including the alignment mark is effective in preventing recognition error or recognition failure of the alignment mark, thus allowing accurate positioning of the electric circuit substrate.
