A part of the base member surface of the slide member is provided with a streak so that a surface roughness thereof by a ten-point height of roughness profile is 8 to 18 μmRz. A dry coat lubricant has polyamideimide resin, at least one kind of a layer improve agent selected from epoxysilane and epoxy resin, and at least one kind of hard particles selected from a silicon nitride and an alumina. Such construction can not only increase the abrasion resistance and the adherence of the slide member, but can decrease friction coefficient of the slide member.

The production of solid lubricant agglomerates by combining solid lubricant powder, an inorganic binder, other fillers if optionally desired, and a liquid to form a mixture, and driving off the liquid to form dry agglomerates which are subsequently classified by size or milled and classified by size to yield agglomerates of a desired size range. These agglomerates are then treated to stabilize the binder, thereby strengthening the binder and rendering it nondispersible in the liquid. The undesired size ranges can be readily recycled because the agglomerates with untreated binder can be reprocessed, thereby promoting high recovery rates.

The process for producing the perfluoropolyether can comprise (1) contacting a perfluoro acid halide, a C2- to C4-substituted ethyl epoxide, or a C3null fluoroketone with a metal halide to produce an alkoxide; (2) contacting the alkoxide with either hexafluoropropylene oxide or tetrafluorooxetane to produce a second acid halide; (3) esterifying the second acid halide to an ester; (4) reducing the ester to its corresponding alcohol; (5) converting the alcohol with a base to a salt form; (6) contacting the salt form with a C3 or higher olefin to produce a fluoropolyether; and (7) fluorinating the fluoropolyether.
