A windrower has a hydrostatic header drive system with a header drive pump and one or more header drive motors. The windrower also has a chassis with wheels coupled thereto, an engine, and a ground drive system coupled to the wheels and the engine. A control system has plural sensors having first, second, and third sensors, wherein the first sensor monitors engine load, the second sensor monitors hydrostatic header drive pressure, and the third sensor monitors ground speed. The control system has one or more controllers configured to receive input from the plural sensors, compare the input with respective target values for engine load, header drive pressure, and ground speed throughout a range of ground speeds defined based on an operator configured maximum ground speed, and automatically adjust the ground speed based on the comparison.

An industrial vehicle includes an accelerator, an accelerator opening sensor which detects an opening of the accelerator, a loading unit, an engine and a torque restriction releasing unit. When the torque restriction releasing unit is set in an Eco-mode in which torque of the engine is restricted, if the opening of the accelerator detected by the accelerator opening sensor is a first predetermined value or greater and at least one of conditions that a speed of the vehicle is a second predetermined value or greater and that the loading unit is in a lifting operation, is satisfied and such conditions of the accelerator and the vehicle speed and/or lifting operation are continued for a predetermined period of time, the torque restriction releasing unit releases the torque restriction.
Abstract:
An inventive system and method for managing vehicle power is presented. The novel technology provides a means to automatically shutdown a vehicle's engine when conditions are such that engine power is not needed, reducing fuel consumption as well as lowering noise and emissions. A series of conditions are examined to determine whether engine power is needed and hence whether shutdown can be safely performed. The inventive system and method can also determine when power is again needed by the engine and can re-start the engine automatically at such times.

An air flow sensor chip-heating control device and method of a diesel hybrid electric vehicle controls whether an air flow sensor installed in an engine intake system of the diesel hybrid electric vehicle performs a chip-heating operation. Particularly, the air flow sensor chip-heating control device performs a chip heating operation of the air flow sensor based on a result obtained by deciding a driving history of an engine when the vehicle enters into a hybrid mode during driving of the engine.

Methods and systems are provided for calibrating a compressor surge line. In one example, a method may include adjusting the compressor surge line based on a vehicle speed in addition to a compressor pressure ratio. For example, at higher vehicle speeds, above a threshold vehicle speed, a less aggressive surge line calibration may be utilized in order to improve drivability while at lower vehicle speeds, below the threshold vehicle speed, a more aggressive surge line calibration may be utilized for NVH mitigation.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided which works to control an electric motor to start the engine through a belt transmission system. The control apparatus restricts rotation of the electric motor so as to keep a speed of the electric motor below a speed at which the electric motor is capable of producing a maximum torque until a given period of time passes since the electric motor is actuated to start in the motor mode. This enables the electric motor to generate the maximum torque when it is required to crank the engine.

An engine system is mounted on a vehicle and includes an engine and a turbocharger. The engine system control apparatus includes: a driving state identifier that identifies a driving state of the vehicle from a plurality of driving states; a surge determiner that determines whether a surge condition as a condition under which a surge noise is generated is satisfied, based on the identified driving state of the vehicle and an operating state of the engine; and a variable nozzle controller that controls, based on the identified driving state of the vehicle and the operating state of the engine, an opening degree of a variable nozzle of the turbocharger to be varied in an open direction, upon determination by the surge determiner that the surge condition is satisfied.

There is provided an engine control apparatus comprising: a vehicle speed detecting unit configured to detect own vehicle speed; an idle stop control unit configured to automatically stop an engine upon a stop condition being met, and restart the engine upon a restart conditions being met during or after completing the automatic engine stop operation, wherein the stop condition includes a condition of a vehicle speed being equal to or less than a first threshold value; a throttle control unit configured to perform a throttle opening increase control for increasing a target opening of throttle opening and keeping it during the automatic engine stop operation; and a determining unit configured to determine the predetermined target opening and the predetermined target period so that at least one of them is increased as the vehicle speed becomes greater.

A vehicle idle-speed warning system and vehicle idle-speed detection method thereof are provided. It is non-invasive, that is, there is no need to change or modify any part of the constructing parts in the engine compartment. The present invention can be adopted stand-alone, or be applied to existing popular apparatuses, such as GPS, driving recorders, smart handheld devices, and vehicle electronic equipments. With the composing elements of a motion information module, an input module, an output module, a timer module and an information processing module, the present invention can accurately determine whether the vehicle under surveillance is in idle state and for how long it is in the idle state, and send an alarm signal automatically. With the implementation of the present invention, drivers can always be alarmed with the vehicle idling situations to prevent possible dangers or coming tickets due to the violation of traffic regulations in certain countries.

In an internal combustion engine, a hydrocarbon feed valve (15) and an exhaust purification catalyst (13) are arranged in an engine exhaust passage. As rich control for making the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas which flows into the exhaust purification catalyst (13) rich, cylinder rich control for generating rich air-fuel ratio combustion gas in the cylinder and exhaust rich control for feeding hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon feed valve (15) to make air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas rich are used. When the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas which flows into the exhaust purification catalyst should be made rich, if the speed of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined speed and the gear position of the transmission is at a predetermined low speed gear position, exhaust rich control is used instead of cylinder rich control.
