Abstract: Electrical modulation provides treatment of brain tumors, such as glioblastoma. An electrical stimulus may be applied to the brain of a patient with a brain tumor (e.g., primary or metastatic brain tumor in upfront, adjuvant, or recurrent treatment setting) via bitemporal and/or unitemporal electrodes. The electrical modulation acts on brain tumor networks to slow tumor growth and increase survivability of the patient. The electrical modulation also transiently permits passage of therapeutics across the blood-brain barrier. The electrical modulation also sensitizes brain tumors to radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy.

Abstract: Neuromuscular monitoring is described that uses a novel lead assembly and a monitor that can select the appropriate electrodes on the lead assembly and calibrate the stimulation signals applied to the patient through the lead assembly. The monitoring can also set a noise floor value to reduce the likelihood of an erroneous train of four ratio.

Abstract: In embodiments a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) system is worn by an ambulatory patient. The WCD system analyzes an ECG signal of the patient, to determine whether or not the patient should be given an electric shock to restart their heart. If the WCD system determines that such a shock should be given, then it also determines whether or not a High Frequency (H-F) noise criterion is met by the ECG signal. If that H-F noise criterion is not met, the patient can be shocked. If, however, that H-F noise criterion is met, then the WCD system can confirm before shocking, by sensing another portion of the ECG signal, analyzing again, and so on. Thanks to the confirmation before shocking, the possibility is diminished that the ECG signal will indicate that a shock is needed falsely, due to H-F noise. This can further reduce false patient alarms, and so on.

Abstract: A beauty instrument according to the present disclosure comprises a skin electrode disposed in a head, a grip electrode disposed in a grip, a voltage application circuit for applying a voltage between the skin electrode and the grip electrode to cause a current to flow between the skin electrode and the grip electrode through a human body, and a controller that controls the voltage application circuit. The controller comprises a touch detector that detects touch of a skin surface of the human body with the skin electrode. Before the touch detector detects the touch, the voltage application circuit is controlled to apply a first voltage having a relatively high frequency, and after the touch detector detects the touch, the voltage application circuit is controlled to apply a second voltage having a relatively low frequency.

Abstract: Diagnostic screening tests that can be used to identify if a patient is a good candidates for an implantable vagus nerve stimulation device. One or more analyte, such as a cytokine or inflammatory molecule, can be measured from a blood sample taken prior to implantation of a vagus nerve stimulator to determine the patient's responsiveness to VNS for treatment of an inflammatory disorder.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to systems, devices and methods for stimulating perceived motion, and more particularly to stimulating perceived motion in three axes. The invention is further directed to stimulating such perceived motion when accompanied by visual stimuli. The invention is further directed to utilizing as few as two distinct pairs of electrodes to administer electrical stimulation to generate the perceived motion. The invention is further directed to systems, devices and methods to minimize side effects while utilizing electrical currents create the perceived motion.

Abstract: A system for stimulating tissue generally comprises a resorbable implant. The resorbable implant includes a substrate, at least one contact, and a transceiver, wherein the substrate, the at least one contact, and the transceiver are resorbable. The system also includes a controller configured to communicate with the transceiver of the resorbable implant and a power supply connected to the controller. The controller delivers power to the resorbable implant from the power supply. The resorbable implant delivers electrical stimulation to tissue when the resorbable implant receives power.
