摘要: The present invention provides unimolecular metal complexes having increased activity in the copolymerization of carbon dioxide and epoxides. Also provided are methods of using such metal complexes in the synthesis of polymers. According to one aspect, the present invention provides metal complexes comprising an activating species with co-catalytic activity tethered to a multidentate ligand that is coordinated to the active metal center of the complex.

摘要: A method for removing carbon dioxide from a gaseous source, the method comprising: (i) contacting said gaseous source with an aqueous solution of a carbon dioxide sorbent that reacts with carbon dioxide to form an aqueous-soluble carbonate or bicarbonate salt of said carbon dioxide sorbent; (ii) contacting the aqueous solution from step (i) with a bis-iminoguanidine carbon dioxide complexing compound, which is different from the carbon dioxide sorbent, to result in precipitation of a carbonate or bicarbonate salt of said carbon dioxide complexing compound and regeneration of the carbon dioxide sorbent; and (iii) removing the precipitated carbonate or bicarbonate salt from the aqueous solution in step (ii) to result in a solid form of said carbonate or bicarbonate salt of the carbon dioxide complexing compound. The method may further include a step (iv) of regenerating the carbon dioxide complexing compound by subjecting the precipitated salt to sufficient heat and/or vacuum.

摘要: A silane of the formula (I) containing at least one aliphatic amidine group- or guanidine group-containing alkoxy group, to a method for producing same, to conversion products thereof, and to the use thereof as a catalyst in curable compositions, in particular based on silane group-containing polymers. The silane of the formula (I) is largely odorless and non-volatile at room temperature. The silane accelerates the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of silane groups very effectively without impairing the storage stability of silane group-containing polymers. Additionally, the silane is very tolerable in silane group-containing compositions, whereby such compositions are not prone to separate, migrate, or evaporate the catalyst.
