摘要: In a metal material bonding method, an insertion material, which has a lower melting point than that of metal materials to be bonded, is interposed between bonding end surfaces of the metal materials to be bonded. The metal materials to be bonded is heated and held to a temperature not lower than the melting point of the insertion material and not higher than the melting point of the metal materials to be bonded while applying pressure to bonding surfaces of the metal materials to be bonded. The insertion material is formed to have a size which is smaller than each of the bonding surfaces of the metal materials to be bonded.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for joining two metal members together. The process comprises the steps of providing two parent metal members to be joined and a prealloyed interlayer foil having a melting point depressant; creating a joint interface by positioning the foil between two spaced apart surfaces of the two parent metal members to be joined together; applying a load substantially transverse to the joint interface which does not cause deformation of the surfaces; and applying localized rapid heating in the area of the joint interface at a temperature sufficient to effect bonding of the two metallic members while causing little or no degradation of microstructural or mechanical properties of the parent metal and a coarsening of grain size in rim portions of the metal members.

摘要: A magnetic vacuum oven mounted in a two piece steel magnet core. The two sections of the magnet slide apart on rails to provide easy access to the interior of the machine for maintenance and repair. The magnet core includes a "safe door" that is mounted on an articulated hinge or other hinge mechanism. The safe door provides direct access for product introduction to and removal from a central chamber surrounded by an applied magnetic field. Two electromagnet elements are mounted around the central chamber. One of the electromagnet elements is mounted in the front section of the housing, and one of the electromagnet elements is mounted in the rear section. The coils are separated by a small air gap to allow vacuum evacuation of the interior of the chamber. The magnetic coils are generally rectangular, and are water cooled to maintain a stable temperature when they are drawing power in operation.

摘要: An electric heating element having a central conductor and an outer metallic sheath is welded to a base of vessel to provide a heating container, for hot water in a domestic appliance for example. In order to carry out the welding, the vessel is heated up by an induction heater to a certain temperature and the temperature of the actual contacting welding surfaces raised above the certain temperature to a fusing temperature by applying and controlling electric power supplied to the conductor while the heating element is held firmly in position against the base.

摘要: A device for fusing a shank and a cutting edge to form a bit is composed of a bottom plate on which a shank locating apparatus, a heater, a cutting edge locating apparatus, a collection apparatus, and a pneumatic-electro control apparatus are mounted. The device can be manually or automatically operated through the pneumatic-electro control apparatus such that a plurality of shanks are arranged and located one after another at a first fusion position, and that a plurality of cutting edges are arranged and located one after another at a second fusion position. The shank located at the first fusion position is heated by the heater before the shank is fused with the cutting edge located at the second fusion position.

摘要: An apparatus and method for fusing intercell connectors to battery cell terminal posts. The apparatus includes inexpensive, non-metallic molds, each having a mold opening and being positionable onto a connector with the mold opening in aligned relation to a terminal post positioned in a connector opening for defining a mold cavity adjacent an end of the terminal post and the connector opening. A selectively positionable induction heating head is provided for locating an induction heating coil in predetermined spaced relation to a terminal post and connector to be fused such that generation of a high frequency, oscillating current in the coil causes melting and fusion of the terminal post and connector with the mold retaining and forming the molten lead. The induction heating head may be manually positionable for use with batteries with different post locations and orientations and includes safety and position locating features.

摘要: A method of bonding two or more sintered compacts of tungsten heavy alloys. The method includes the steps of providing two or more sintered compacts of tungsten heavy alloy powder and then positioning the sintered compacts in adjacent alignment in a furnace chamber. A localized induction field is applied only at the juncture of the sintered compacts to bond the sintered compacts and produce a monolithic assembly of sintered compacts having a bond strength substantially equal to the strength of the sintered compacts.

摘要: Apparatus for inductively heating metal can lids operates at medium frequency, with a many-turn induction coil wrapped partly or entirely around the can closures. No focusing cores are required, nor need the conductors be water cooled. Can ends may be fed through the apparatus in-stick. IGBTs are used in the H-bridge of the inverter. A control system is also provided which minimizes peak current flow through the switches and obviates the need for a series inductor conventionally used for current limiting. The control system monitors the tank voltage phase angle and turns the switches on and off in optimal response thereto. Can lids are separated magnetically while being motivated by sequentially switched electromagnets, and can bodies may be rotated by a split conveyor belt while being transported through inductive heating apparatus. Closed-loop temperature control apparatus may also be included to control AC power input and to prevent overheating of the can closures in the event of unintended stoppage of the production line.
