Abstract:
A radiant energy imaging system is used to create an electronic image of a person entering a security controlled area to detect weapons or contraband concealed under their clothing. The electronic image is electronically transmitted to a processing center where it is evaluated by a human and/or software algorithms for the presence of concealed objects. The resulting evaluation, consisting of digitally represented information, is electronically transmitted back to the examination site. In one embodiment this processed data is displayed as a graphical outline of the concealed objects superimposed on an optical image of the person. In another embodiment, the processed data is used to control a personnel barrier controlling access into the security controlled area. In another embodiment a network allocation server selectively routes the electronic images from two or more body scanners to two or more processing centers.
Abstract:
A priority encoder (PE) for a CAM, comprising a plurality of PE blocks, each receiving a plurality of match results corresponding to data entries in a corresponding data array block and, for determining an address of a highest priority data entry based on a physical location in the data array block during a CAM search-and-compare operation a register for storing a user defined priority value assigned to each PE block and means for evaluating priority values and the address determined by the plurality of PE blocks to select a PE block having the highest priority data entry.
Abstract:
The present disclosure suggests various microelectronic component assembly designs and methods for manufacturing microelectronic component assemblies. In one particular implementation, the invention provides a microelectronic component assembly that includes spaced-apart first and second lead frame members. A packaged element is disposed between the lead frame members and attached thereto only by a plurality of elongate, flexible links that permit the packaged element to accommodate thermally induced stresses by floating with respect to the first and second lead frame members.
Abstract:
An aqueous liquid passivate composition for treating metal surfaces having dispersed therein solid particles which result in a transparent or translucent, preferably colorless, corrosion resistant coating, upon drying of the aqueous liquid passivate composition, the coating providing better resistance to heating by solar energy than the untreated metal surface at lower coating thicknesses than paint.

Abstract:
A cushioning member for an article of footwear. The cushioning member is a flexible bladder having a fluidly interconnected heel chamber and forefoot chamber. The bladder is disposed above the sole and beneath the wearer's foot to provided added cushioning to the wearer. The bladder contains air at slightly above ambient pressure and can be formed by thermoforming or by welding two sheets of resilient, flexible material together. A connecting passage fluidly connects the heel chamber and the forefoot chamber. The connecting passage is narrow to control the flow of air between the two chambers.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of using same is provided which includes the use of an apparatus configured to scan and apply labels to parcels moving along a conveyor belt. The apparatus of the present invention includes first and second adjacent conveyors positioned with a gap there between, the gap being sufficiently narrow to allow passage of parcels from the first conveyor to the second conveyor. Parcels crossing the gap are exposed to a reading device having a reading axis passing upwardly through the gap to read indicia. The labels, which are scanned and decoded, provide information which is subsequently sent to a printing device which prints a “second” label which is blown or otherwise transferred to a second side of the parcel. The parcel then exits the second conveyor to be sorted downstream by use of the second label.
Abstract:
