Each measurement gap repetition pattern may be assigned to a different frequency of the network. The plurality of measurement gap repetition patterns may include skipping measurement patterns. Further embodiments may include the user equipment receiving a repetition period in a measurement object frame or receiving a plurality of measurement gap repetition patterns in which the measurement gaps are non-colliding with measurement gaps of other repetition patterns assigned to the user equipment.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatuses for quality of service (QoS) flow to data radio bearer (DRB) mapping override bits. An apparatus of a user equipment (UE), includes one or more data storage devices, and one or more processors operably coupled to the one or more data storage devices. The one or more data storage devices are configured to store data corresponding to mapping of QoS flows to data radio bearers. The one or more processors are configured to map one or more QoS flows to a DRB in an uplink (UL) responsive to receipt, by the UE from a cellular base station, of a user plane packet in a downlink (DL) through the DRB if an override bit of the user plane packet indicates that reflective mapping should apply.

Abstract: Systems and methods of segregating a SDF of a PDU session are described. The UE transmits a NAS message to the network. The NAS message indicates the SDF, the desired QoS, and a segregation indication that requests that the network establish a separate QoS flow for the SDF even if an existing QoS flow is able to support the specific QoS. The SF decides whether or not to establish the separate QoS flow and updates filters in the UPF as well as providing a response to the UE containing a similar indication. The UE modifies resources related to the PDU session based on the response. The QoS is indicated as a 5QI and GBR or as a QFI of an existing QoS Flow on which the SDF is to be added if the separate QoS is not established. The QFI is in an unencrypted SDAP header of the NAS message.

In one aspect, the method includes actions of accessing, by a device in a wireless communication system, data representing an index of RLC entities of a data radio bearer (DRB)/PDCP entity and RLC activation state information, the activation state information indicating whether one or more RLC entities of the DRB/PDCP entity in the index of RLC entities is activated or deactivated, selecting, by the device in the wireless communication system, a subset of the RLC entities of the DRB/PDCP entity based on an index position in the index and the activation state information for each of the RLC entities, and using the selected subset of RLC entities of the DRB/PDCP entity to transmit the PDCP Control PDU.

Abstract: Techniques to configure a user equipment (UE) for a multi-connectivity handover with a source base station (SBS) and a target base station (TBS) include encoding a measurement report for transmission to the SBS. The measurement report is triggered based on a measurement event configured by the SBS. Radio resource control (RRC) signaling from the SBS is decoded, the RRC signaling including a handover command in response to the measurement report. The handover command includes an indication for multi-connectivity support by the SBS and the TBS during the handover. A first protocol stack associated with the SBS and a second protocol stack associated with the TBS are configured at the UE. A packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data unit (PDU) received at the UE during the handover is processed using the first protocol stack or the second protocol stack.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate generally to a communication between a user equipment (“UE”) and a plurality of evolved Node Bs (“eNBs”). A UE may be adapted to operate in a dual connected mode on respective wireless cells provided by first and second eNBs. The UE may be adapted to estimate respective power headroom (“PHR”) values associated with simultaneous operation on the first and second wireless cells. The UE may cause the first and second PHR estimates to be transmitted to both the first and second eNBs. The first and second eNBs may use these estimates to compute respective uplink transmission powers for the UE. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for carrying out timing adjustments in a wireless communications network. The approach includes a user equipment (UE) that includes processor circuitry and a radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry is configured to obtain a timing advance value for the wireless communication with a satellite base station, and to determine a transmission time for transmission of a random access channel (RACH) preamble based on the timing advance value. The radio front end circuitry transmits the random access preamble at the transmission time. Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for providing DRX enhancements in LTE systems are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a system control module is provided for controlling communications via a communications interface. A processor is coupled to the system control module and is arranged to implement an inactivity timer and an on-duration timer for determining an active time for monitoring subframes on the physical downlink control channel for control signals, the processor further monitoring subframes after the active time.
