    摘要: A Collapsible Rotary Blister Sealer with Rolling Heater Coating is disclosed. The disclosed blister sealer comprises a lightweight, tubular frame, detachable legs and a lightweight, modular turntable. Further disclosed is a sealer that is mountable on a table-top or other horizontal surface. Said disclosed turntable is height-adjustable; easily removable, and further includes an indexing means for stopping said turntable at predetermined angular positions. The disclosed press of the present blister sealer may be height- and pressure-adjustable, and said frame may further include a strut to further strengthen said frame when greater pressures are desired from said press. It is further disclosed that said sealer include a unique heater plate assembly that permits easy access to the heating coils and further may include a protective sheath to prevent damage to said heater plate assembly. Still further disclosed is a protective guard to protect the user from the heater plate assembly by a guard comprising a metal top and three plastic side panels that are easily replaceable. In a further embodiment of the present invention, a rotary collapsible blister sealer that can seal clamshell packages around items is also disclosed. In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the sealer includes a rolling heater coating for preventing materials from sticking from the bottom of the heater assembly.

    摘要: A conduction welding apparatus and method for bonding abutted thermal plastic tubular end portions is particularly suitable for welding PFA. In a preferred embodiment, a folding weld head embraces the abutted the tubular end portions to be welded, each tubular end portion including a flange spaced from the surfaces to be joined. The weld head includes means for securing the flanges within the weld head and further include bias means. The bias means provide an inward axial bias on the adjoined tubular end portions when the tubular end portions are displaced axially outward from the weld head due to the expansion of the plastic during the weld process. The bias means in a preferred embodiment is substantially inoperative prior to the weld and provides bias, or a substantial increase in bias, when the flanges are displaced due to the expansion of the molten PFA during the weld process. In a preferred embodiment, the securing means comprises a pair of clamps which each attach to and encompass the respective tubular end portions at the end portion flanges. The tubing clamps fit into recesses in the weld head. In such a preferred embodiment the bias means is provided by a spring loaded plate which is deflectable in an axial direction outward from the weld head. The invention also includes a process for accomplishing a weld with the described apparatus.

    摘要: Jointing systems for plastics pipes are known where electrofusion is employed to create a welded joint between two pipe ends. Conventional electrofusion units work well on pipes of small diameter, below 400mm, but with larger diameters difficulties arise. The invention seeks to overcome difficulties of joining large diameter pipes, an objective met by a jointing system comprising a strip of plastics material wound with a resistance wire, and a containment strip of a compatible plastics material. Both of the wound strip and the containment strip can have a tightening means such that with the wound strip wrapped around a pipe joint, and the containment strip wrapped around the wound strip, both can be tightened onto the pipe ends at the position of the joint. Once fusion has taken place, the wound strip and the containment strip are welded together onto the pipe ends to create a sealed joint in the form of a hoop of high strength.

    摘要: A jaw-like cylindrical tool for producing a strong electromagnetic field for causing a Curie point heater to be energized having a curved cross-section that brings the two edges of the jaw-like structure into contact. Closely spaced conductors lie along the inner surface of the structure transverse to its axis while widely spaced conductors lie transverse to said axis along the outer surface of the structure. The inner surface of the structure has a plurality of axially extending ferrite rods lying immediately adjacent the inner surface conductors. The inner and outer surface conductors are connected so that the currents flow in opposite directions, the outer conductors reducing electromagnetic radiation while the ferrites and inner conductor spacing produce a strong central magnetic field irrespective of the field created by the opposing field produced by the outer conductors. The tool may be manufactured by laying each ferrite rod longitudinally along the flat surface of a D-shaped mandrel with the rods lying side by side transversely. Conductors are wrapped transversely around the curved surface of the mandrel and over the ferrite rods. The rods and conductors are bonded to one another, removed from the mandrel and the resulting structure curved until the longitudinal edges of the structure are in contact with one another.

Also fed into the annular space (21) is a longitudinally recessed locking strip (47) which the rollers (37) press into locking engagement with the adjacent side flanges (43) of successive convolutions of the helically wound strip (41).

    摘要: Method and apparatus for construction angle fittings and large sweeps of polyethylene pipe by the fusion process, which comprises the preparation of short pipe segments of which both faces are cut at a selected angle (90-A) to the axis of the pipe. Both faces are cut at the same angle, so that the included angle at the two faces is equal to 2A. A conventional fusion pipe joining apparatus, which normally holds two pipes colinear, for fusion at a plane of juncture which is perpendicular to the axis of the pipe, is modified to have inserts into the pipe clamping means, so that the axes of the pipe segments are at the selected angle A. When two segments are clamped respectively in the fixed clamp and the movable clamp are brought together, the contiguous faces will be plane, parallel and will have the same elliptical contour, and can be joined by the fusion process. Additional segments can be added to the ends until a sweep of any desired total angle of turn is constructed.
