摘要: An information processing apparatus having a simplified switching function of a user is disclosed that can reduce the processing burden upon a CPU and eliminate an action that is not intended by its user. If an application, which implements a function of a device or the like that is not supported as a standard device by an OS and is started up for each user, has been started up by a first user who is not active at present, that is, a user in a logon state whose desktop has been switched to that of a second user, then part of the processing of the application is temporarily stopped. Then, if it is detected that the first user is rendered operative, that is, when the desktop is switched to that of the first user, the processing of the application of the first user is re-started. Since the processing of the application by the user (first user) who is not active at present is temporarily stopped partially, the other user (second user) who is active at present can execute its processing without being influenced by the processing of the former user.

摘要: A semiconductor device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided for the improvement of the reliability of copper damascene wiring in which a film between wiring layers and a film between via layers are comprised of an SiOC film with low dielectric constant. A film between wiring layers, a film between wiring layers, and a film between via layers are respectively comprised of an SiOC film, and stopper insulating films and a cap insulating film are comprised of a laminated film of an SiCN film A and an SiC film B. By doing so, it becomes possible to reduce the leakage current of the film between wiring layers, the film between wiring layers, and the film between via layers, and also possible to improve the adhesion of the film between wiring layers, the film between wiring layers, and the film between via layers to the stopper insulating films and the cap insulating film.

摘要: The invention provides an image reading apparatus and method capable of performing skew error correction at high speed. In an image reading apparatus that conveys a stacked medium along a conveyance path, reads an image of the medium being conveyed, and discharges the medium after reading the image, the apparatus comprises calculation means for calculating the amount of skew of the medium while being conveyed, and correction means for correcting the amount of skew of the medium in accordance with the amount of skew calculated by the calculation means. The correction means comprise determination means for determining whether correction for the amount of skew should be performed or not, and control means for correcting the amount of skew of the medium. The calculation means comprise medium detection means for detecting the state of the medium conveyed along the conveyance path, and calculate the amount of skew from the detected result of the state of the medium. The control means comprise correction control means for correcting the amount of skew based on the amount of skew of the medium calculated by the calculation means when the determination means determine to correct the amount of skew. The calculation means comprise image reading means for reading an image of the medium conveyed along the conveyance path at a position closer on the conveyance path to the discharging side than the medium detection means, and calculate the amount of skew from the image data of the medium read by the image reading means.

摘要: An electrostatic ink-jet head (1) in which the present invention is applied comprises a pressure chamber (6) communicating with an ink nozzle (21), and an atmospheric pressure chamber (12) opened to the atmosphere, with a vibrating plate (5) being provided on the base plane of the pressure chamber (6). Voltage applied between the vibrating plate (5) and an electrode (43) causes the vibrating plate (5) to vibrate due to electrostatic force, thereby discharging ink droplets. A vibrating chamber (41) communicates with a pressure compensating chamber (49), and a displacement plate (16) capable of being displaced in the direction outward from the plane according to fluctuations in the external, atmospheric pressure is formed at the base plane of the pressure compensating chamber (49). Displacement of the displacement plate (16) increases/decreases the volume of the pressure compensating chamber (49), and the internal pressure of the vibrating chambers (41) communicating thereof is adjusted to match the external atmospheric pressure. Accordingly, the vibration properties of the vibrating plate (5) can be maintained constant even when the external atmospheric pressure fluctuates, and proper ink droplet discharging action can be maintained.

摘要: Methods for manufacturing an electrostatic actuator that comprises electrode members having opposing surfaces with a gap disposed therebetween. In an ink jet head, a bottom surface of a diaphragm may be one of the electrodes (common electrode) of an eletrostatic actuator, the diaphragm forming a wall of an ink chamber in the ink jet head that is displaced relatively by an electrostatic force. A hydrophobic film, preferably hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS), is formed on at least one of the opposing electrode surfaces to improve the durability of the electrostatic actuator so that electrostatic attraction between opposing electrode members does not decrease and the opposing electrode members do not stick together. HMDS molecules are smaller than PFDA molecules, and a uniform, variation-free hydrophobic film can therefore be formed even when the gap between opposing electrodes is narrow. Durability and film stability of a HMDS hydrophobic film are also high. An electrostatic actuator with high durability and operating stability can thus be achieved.
