Abstract:
A process is provided for the continuous production of nonwoven webs in the form of a flexible tube from thermoplastic fibers, spinning the fibers continuously from a melt onto a rotating mandrel and continuously withdrawing the web from the mandrel in the form of a flattened tube. Density of the web is controlled by controlling the distance between the rotating mandrel and the orifices of the spinning die through which the molten polymeric material is spun, and by controlling the diameter of the fibers. If the spinning of the fibers is continuous, the flattened tubular web can be formed in a continuous length. Control of the spinning rate in relation to the diameter of the mandrel and the rate of withdrawal of the tubular web from the mandrel controls the thickness of the web. The web drawn off the mandrel can be used as a tube, or slit lengthwise and opened out, or collapsed onto itself, for use as a double layer sheet. The process is particularly adapted for forming filter elements and for forming webs of great width, which would be very costly or impractical to produce using conventional spinning dies of length equal to the width of the web.
Abstract:
A hydraulic circuit including a reservoir, a pump for withdrawing fluid therefrom and for directing it under pressure through a control valve and to a hydraulic motor and means for directing return fluid back to the reservoir and through a filter which is disposed entirely within the reservoir. The filter has no external fluidtight housing and fluid is filtered by passing outwardly through a hollow filter unit so that the filtered fluid passes at relatively low pressure and velocity into the body of fluid in the reservoir to avoid agitating and aeration of the fluid supply therein.

766,286. Filters. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Nov. 1, 1954 [Nov. 5, 1953], No. 31526/54. Class 46. A resin-impregnated pleated paper filter element is formed by first folding a flat sheet of the paper into uniform pleats 24, Fig. 5, bonding it e.g., by means of a layer 34 to a flat rectangular perforated sheet of cone material 26, bending the ends of the latter together and joining them e.g., by a lap strip 36, Fig. 3, thus causing the pleated paper into a cylinder, the end folds being bonded together at 38. The open ends of the pleats are bonded to plates 28, 30, Fig. 1, and the outer folds are surrounded by a perforated wrapper 32 cemented thereto. In use the element 16 so formed is held by a spring 18 and a bolt 14 within a bowl 10 having an inlet 20 and an outlet 22.

The present disclosure provides instruments, modules and methods for improved detection of edited cells following nucleic acid-guided nuclease genome editing. The disclosure provides improved automated instruments that perform methods—including high throughput methods—for screening cells that have been subjected to editing and identifying cells that have been properly edited.
Abstract:
A polymer melt candle filter having a support which comprises a hollow cylindrical body defined by a first end, a second end, and a cylinder wall having a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion includes a screw thread on its outside surface and optionally a hex fitting on its inside surface for receiving a hex wrench. The second end portion includes a plurality of holes in the cylinder wall. The area of the openings of the holes on the outside surface of the cylinder wall may be larger than the area of the openings of the corresponding holes on the inside surface of the cylinder wall. The shape of the openings of the holes on the outside surface may be non-circular. A polymer melt filter plate assembly which comprises (a) a support plate comprising a plurality of threaded holes; (b) at least one filter which is screwed into at least one of the threaded holes via the screw thread on the outside surface of the first end portion of the filter support; (c) a tie rod with (i) a first end extending through a hole in a cone insert and a cap located at the second end of the filter support, and (ii) a second end extending through a threaded hole in the support plate; and (d) a cross bar which is attached to the second end of the tie rod for holding the support plate inside a shaft of an apparatus for filtering a polymer melt.
Abstract:
A filter membrane for selectively separating a specific material from other materials in a processing medium includes a membrane including resin material and having openings formed such that the openings selectively separate a specific material from other materials in a processing medium. The membrane has a first surface and a second surface on the opposite side with respect to the first surface such that the first surface receives the processing medium supplied to the membrane, the openings are formed through the membrane such that each of the openings has an opening part extending from the second surface toward the first surface and an expansion part expanding a size of the opening part and extending from the opening part to the first surface, and the first surface of the membrane is divided into multiple regions.

Abstract:
Improved filter vessel assemblies for filtering fluids in fluid systems (e.g., industrial and/or commercial systems) are provided. More particularly, the present disclosure provides for advantageous filter vessel assemblies that include a releasable locking assembly for a removable filter member (e.g., a filter bag). The present disclosure provides for improved systems/designs for easily securing and/or unsecuring removable filter members to or from a locking assembly of a filter vessel assembly. Improved, convenient, low-cost and/or effective systems and methods for easily securing and/or unsecuring removable filter members to or from a filter vessel assembly by utilizing advantageous locking assemblies associated with a supporting assembly or basket assembly of the filter vessel assembly are provided.
