When the tip end of the polarizer reaches a predetermined position in the created space between the upper and lower rollers, the joining roller is lowered and the polarizer supplied synchronously with transportation of the film is pressed against the film and joined.

In the present invention, a technique is described for manufacturing microtube devices which have peripheral geometries that are not uniform along the tube or device axis. These geometries may exist in only one location on the periphery of the microtube device or geometries may be repeated either uniformly or non-uniformly with micron or sub-micron precision along the tube or device axis. The preferred manufacturing process involves forming a complex mandrel, ie., (one, for example, that can not be formed by extrusion or pultrusion under constant processing conditions) and giving it at least one metallic and/or nonmetallic coating by any of a variety of techniques. The complex mandrel can then be removed by appropriate chemical or physical means that do not adversely affect the coating(s) desired for the wall. The result is a microtube structure having an axial profile duplicating that on the mandrel from which it was formed.

According to the process for coating metal substrates, a light-sensitive (or photo-sensitive) bonding material, such as an emulsion or a photopolymer film, is used to adhere metal directly to a substrate to provide various forms of metal coatings on the substrate. The light-sensitive bonding material is generally applied directly between the substrate and the metal layer. The light-sensitive bonding material is applied under conditions (e.g., lighting and temperature) that prevent premature curing of the light-sensitive bonding material. The light-sensitive bonding material applied between the substrate and metal is then dried and exposed to light to cure the light-sensitive bonding material in selected areas, causing the metal to adhere to the substrate in the selected areas.

Thus, the synthetic marble flooring exhibiting amorphous marble patterns and excellent durability and a method of manufacturing the same are provided.

Next, a pressure is reduced within a space disposed between the elastomeric caul and the lay-up mandrel proximate the non-planar portion. Simultaneously with the reducing of the pressure with the space, the elastomeric caul is stretched into a second position such that the second portion of the elastomeric caul is drawn proximate to at least one of the prepreg material and the lay-up mandrel.

The present invention relates to a label-pasting method and a label-pasting device which do not require peeling-off paper and hence enable low-cost label pasting. A label-pasting device comprising (i) an adhesive applier for applying pressure-sensitive adhesive to a label-material sheet composed of only label material and fed from its roll, (ii) a die cutter for cutting out labels from the label-material sheet with pressure-sensitive adhesive, and (iii) a label paster for pasting the cut-out labels on a packing sheet. Because the label-material sheet is composed of only label material and no peeling-off paper is used, the label-pasting cost is low.

Devices and methods for inflating and sealing packaging pillows from a material web are shown for consistently producing high-quality packaging pillows. A web of material is advanced past an inflation nozzle, inflated with gas, and sealed closed by a sealing element. The temperature of the sealing element is monitored using a thermocouple connection and automatically adjusted using a closed-loop system. A sealing clamp parallel to the sealing element maintains two sheets of the web in contact through the sealing step. The inflation nozzle is provided with two inflation outlets: a first outlet inserting gas longitudinally into the web of material, and a second outlet inserting gas laterally into the material. Gas input is controlled with the use of relief valves to maintain pillow quality at all stages of production.
