摘要： Cold-in-place asphalt recycling is disclosed. A foamed asphalt may be produced by injecting water and optionally compressed air into a hot asphalt stream. A lubricating surfactant may be added to the hot asphalt stream to improve performance. The foamed asphalt may be mixed with reclaimed material to provide a uniformly coated paving material that can compacted to a desired density.

A boom mechanism includes a proximal end mounted on the chassis. A first swivel mechanism rotates the boom mechanism in relation to the chassis. A tamper plate is mounted on a distal end of the boom mechanism. The machine can patch potholes through the actions of a single operator who remains in the cab during the patching or repair process, thus enhancing the safety of the patching operation.

摘要： An apparatus or a vehicle for applying multiple coatings of fluid to a surface in a single moving pass comprises a manifold having a plurality of nozzles. A first nozzle applies a first layer of fluid to the surface in accordance with a first spray pattern. A second nozzle carried applies a second layer of fluid to the surface in accordance with a second spray pattern. The second layer substantially covers the first layer. A third nozzle applies a third layer of fluid to the surface in accordance with a third spray pattern. The third layer substantially covers the first and second layers. The apparatus provides for multiple coatings of one or more fluids onto a substrate in a single pass, whereby the application of the various layers is accurately controlled to achieve a desired result.

In another embodiment there is disclosed a method of limiting access to a hopper body of a mobile pavement repair system during its use, the hopper body having a powered implement within the hopper body and powered by a hydraulic motor. The method comprises the steps of covering the open top of the hopper body with a safety door; opening and closing the safety door using a hydraulic actuating cylinder; and preventing the powered implement from operating whenever the safety door is not in its closed position, under the control of an interlock device coupled between the hydraulic actuating cylinder and the hydraulic motor.

摘要： An improved hydrant diffuser, comprising a housing or box with one open end, slows and directs the flow of water from a hydrant when the hydrant has been opened to flush a water line. The diffuser can be mounted on any work truck or other vehicle having a class 3 trailer hitch receiver. A hose may be coupled to a fire hydrant to carry water to the diffuser. The other end of the hose is non-releasably attached to a 90-degree elbow which can be coupled to a flange bolted to the top of the diffuser box. The diffuser mounting to the truck includes means that allow the box outlet to be pointed straight back from the truck or in selected positions up to 90 degrees either to the right or left. A debris screen across the outlet end stops any rocks or other solid objects in the water stream.

摘要： A tactile warning surface has an array of tactile elements made of a composite material formed on the surface of an existing substrate. The preferred composite material is a mixture of a dry powder aggregate and a liquid SBR latex. The tactile elements are in the form of truncated cones or flattened domes having a height of about 0.20 inch and a diameter of about 1.0 inch. A method for installing the tactile warning surface includes the steps of placing a mold sheet having an array of mold apertures with shapes corresponding to the tactile elements over the substrate area, injecting the composite material in a semi-liquid state under pressure into the apertures of the mold sheet, allowing the injected composite material to cure and harden, then removing the mold sheet. For increased durability in traffic-bearing applications, a pigment/aggregate mixture can be applied as a coating over the tactile elements and substrate area. The tactile warning surface is installed using an injecting machine having a hopper for receiving the composite material and an access slot below for releasing it into the mold apertures of the mold sheet. The machine can also include a vibrator and arm extending into the hopper for vibrating the semi-liquid composite material.
