    摘要: Various embodiments of the invention include solutions for chamber-less thermal joining. A first aspect includes a system for performing a thermal joining of a joint space defined by a metallic part without an environmental chamber thereabout. The system may include an induction coil for heating an area adjacent to the joint space defined by the metallic part for the thermal joining of the joint space. The system may also include a gas lens for directing a shielding gas towards the joint space, and a valve system for controlling a flow of the shielding gas from the gas lens. A vacuum system creates a negative pressure in the metallic part to urge the shielding gas through the joint space during the thermal joining, thus allowing thermal joining of the metallic part without an environmental chamber thereabout.

    摘要: A hybrid induction welded piston including an upper piston part welded to a lower piston part is provided. The piston is produced by induction heating the upper piston part and the lower piston part, and bringing the parts together to a part growth compensated position. The method then includes rotating the upper piston part 17 to 34 degrees clockwise and then 17 to 34 degrees counterclockwise. In addition to controlling the axial position and degree of rotation, the force applied to the piston parts is controlled so that preferably no flash is formed in a narrow cooling chamber of the piston. During the rotating steps, the pressure gradually increases to a maximum level which occurs while the upper piston part is rotating in the second direction. The piston includes a homogenous metallurgical bond across the weld and no indentation on the outer surface at the weld prior to machining.

Alternatively, the portions of the main journal may be welded, heated, shimmed, and forged to form a forged segment. The crankshaft may be lengthened by adding additional parts or forged segments using the same steps. A production line for carrying out this method when producing a crankshaft with n number of crank journals, where n is an even integer.

    摘要: This method is for manufacturing a rolling bearing having a rotatable ring, a non-rotatable ring, rolling bodies and a flange coupled with a first ring amongst the rotatable ring and non rotatable ring. This method includes at least the following steps: forming the rings and the flange as three independent parts, immobilizing a weldable insert onto the first ring, by electro magnetic pulse technology (EMPT) or by capacitor discharge welding (CW), and welding together the insert and the flange or the insert and a flange holding member. The rolling bearing includes the insert immobilized on the first ring by magnetic pulse welding (MPW), magnetic pulse forming (MPF) or by capacitor discharge welding (CDW). Moreover, the flange or a flange holding member is welded on the insert.
