摘要: A turbo-generator system generates electricity from the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine 1. The electric current generated by the generator 11 (e.g. a switched reluctance machine) is controlled so as to maintain the turbine 3 at a first pre-set rotational speed. The amount of electric current demanded from the generator 11 is limited or reduced if the electrical system 17 cannot accept a greater electric current or if the exhaust gas pressure upstream of the turbine 3 is too great. In such cases, the proportion of the exhaust gas permitted to bypass the turbine 3 is controlled so as to maintain the turbine 3 at a second pre-set rotational speed that is slightly greater than the first. The turbine's preset speeds are chosen to maximize electrical generating efficiency and for turbine safety. The system maximizes the amount of electricity generated, avoids excessive exhaust gas back-pressure on the engine 1, and avoids overloading the electrical system 17.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for wind turbine generators for reducing electrical disturbances in the form of power variations which are caused by damping controllers arranged the compensate structural oscillations by inducing shaft torque variations. The shaft torque variations are generated by imposing corresponding variations in a generator set-point, e.g. a power or torque set-point. Variations in the generator set-point cause undesired variations in the power injected to the grid by one or more wind turbine generators. According to an embodiment of the invention the electrical disturbances may be reduced by limiting a damping controller's control action. The amount of limitation or restriction of the damping controller may be determined on basis on electrical disturbance information determined from power measured e.g. at a location on the grid.

摘要: The drive system for wind turbine with contra-rotating generator includes various embodiments of belt drive pulley systems for a direct drive contra-rotating wind generator. The generator has a magnetic rotor and an armature mounted on a shaft configured to rotate in the opposite direction from the magnetic rotor. In some embodiments, a belt extends across two pairs of coaxially mounted idler pulleys between a pulley on the magnetic rotor shaft and a pulley on the armature shaft. In other embodiments, the pulleys on the magnetic rotor and armature shafts are double sheave pulleys, and a first belt extends across one or two coaxial pair(s) of idler pulleys between an inner and outer sheave, and a second belt extends across one or two coaxial pair(s) of idler pulleys between an inner and outer sheave. Either the magnetic rotor or the armature shaft or both are coupled to a wind turbine rotor.
