Methods and systems for determining a mood of a human driver of a vehicle and using the mood for generating a vehicle response, is provided. One example method includes capturing, by a camera of the vehicle, a face of the human driver. The capturing is configured to capture a plurality of images over a period of time, and the plurality of images are analyzed to identify a facial expression and changes in the facial expression of the human driver over the period of time. The method further includes capturing, by a microphone of the vehicle, voice input of the human driver. The voice input is captured over the period of time. The voice input is analyzed to identify a voice profile and changes in the voice profile of the human driver over the period of time. The method processes, by a processor of the vehicle, a combination of the facial expression and the voice profile captured during the period of time to predict the mood of the human driver. The method generates the vehicle response that is responsive to the mood of the human driver. The vehicle response is configured to make at least one adjustment to a setting of the vehicle. The adjustment is selected based on the mood of the human driver. The vehicle response can be used to make the driver more calm and/or assist in reducing distracted driving.

The method includes detecting, by a computer of a charging unit (CU), a connection of a charging connector of the CU to a vehicle charge port of an electric vehicle (EV). The detecting of the connection includes processing a data exchange between electronics of the EV and the computer of the CU. The method includes receiving, by the computer of the CU, charge status of the EV while the charging connector is connected to the CU. The received charge status of the EV changes as charge is provided from the CU to a battery of the EV. The method includes sending a notification by server to a user account that was used to obtain charge for the EV at the CU. The notification provides data for a graphical user interface that shows the charge status of the EV. The method includes receiving instructions from a device associated with the user account, to make payment of a fee or receive a fee charge, to instruct the CU to indicate an in progress or in-use state even when the EV is at a full level of charge while the EV is occupying the CU and is preventing others from access to the CU that is provided for public use of users with user accounts. The method includes sending data by the server to the computer of the CU to display an in progress or in-use state, wherein the server communicates over the internet with the device.

Vehicles can be dropped off, registered for self-parking via a smartphone, and the vehicle moves to an available parking location.

The vehicle further includes a plurality of cameras integrated in the vehicle to enable capturing of image data of an area around the vehicle. The computer is configured to receive data from the plurality of sensors of the vehicle to detect a contact with the vehicle and identify a side of the vehicle from which the contact was detected. The computer is configured to send data to the cloud services system which will then send the notification indicating that contact was detected with the vehicle. The cloud services system enables access to additional data and controls, including live feeds of the area around the vehicle.

Generating the recommendation to apply the setting occurs upon reaching or exceeding a predefined threshold. The system sends to the user account the recommendation to apply the setting for the vehicle. The computing device enables access to the user account to view and accept the recommendation. The computing device associated with the vehicle enables acceptance of the recommendation, such that acceptance of the recommendations causes an instruction to the vehicle to apply the setting.
