Abstract:
Technologies for recommending relevant tags for the tagging of media based on one or more initial tags provided for the media and based on a large quantity of other tagged media. Sample media as candidates for recommendation are provided by a set of weak rankers based on corresponding relevance measures in semantic and visual domains. The various samples provided by the weak rankers are then ranked based on relative order to provide a list of recommended tags for the media. The weak rankers provide sample tags based on relevance measures including tag co-occurrence, tag content correlation, and image-conditioned tag correlation.
Abstract:
A MEMS-based Fourier Transform (FT) spectrometer is provided. According to an embodiment, the MEMS-based FT spectrometer is an FT infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. The FT spectrometer can include a beam splitter positioned to receive an incoming beam from a light source and split the incoming beam into a first sub-beam and a second sub-beam, a fixed mirror positioned to receive the first sub-beam from the beam splitter, a scanning MEMS mirror positioned to receive the second sub-beam from the beam splitter, and a photodetector, wherein a reflected first sub-beam from the fixed mirror and a reflected second sub-beam from the scanning MEMS mirror recombine at the beam splitter and become directed to the photodetector. According to one embodiment, the photodetector is a MEMS-based IR detector. In addition, the MEMS-based IR detector can be an un-cooled IR detector having a capacitive sensing structure.
Abstract:
This invention relates generally to the field of moiety or molecule analysis, isolation, detection and manipulation and library synthesis. In particular, the invention provides a microdevice, which microdevice comprises: a) a substrate; and b) a photorecognizable coding pattern on said substrate. Preferably, the microdevice does not comprise an anodized metal surface layer. Methods and kits for isolating, detecting and manipulating moieties, and synthesizing libraries using the microdevices are also provided. The invention further provides two-dimensional optical encoders and uses thereof. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a microdevice, which microdevice comprises: a) a magnetizable substance; and b) a photorecognizable coding pattern, wherein said microdevice has a preferential axis of magnetization. Systems and methods for isolating, detecting and manipulating moieties and synthesizing libraries using the microdevices are also provided.
Abstract:
A high-speed serial ATA physical layer includes a serial ATA control circuit. A serial ATA multiplexer outputs one of a plurality of serial ATA signals that is selected by the serial ATA control circuit. A serial ATA analog front end provides a first gain and pre-emphasis to the selected one of the plurality of serial ATA signals. The pre-emphasis alters a transmission characteristic of the selected one of the plurality of serial ATA signals.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for protecting data being transferred during a session with an application are presented. In response to receiving a session request that includes an application identifier for an application, a data processing node establishes a session with the application and assigns a session identifier for that session. A session response, which includes the session identifier, to the session request is sent. In response to receiving a first request that includes the session identifier, a first pipe in the session is established. This first pipe enables data related to the first request to be isolated according to an assigned first pipe identifier for the first pipe. A first response to the first request is sent, wherein the first response comprises the session identifier and the first pipe identifier.
Abstract:
A high-fill-factor and large-aperture tip-tilt micromirror array is disclosed. Electrothermal actuation can be used to obtain a large scan range, and the actuation engine can be hidden underneath the mirror plate for high fill factor. In one embodiment, inverted-series-connected (ISC) bimorph actuators can be used to achieve tilt and piston scanning. Embodiments can be used to implement optical phased array technology for steering active and passive electro-optical systems based on MEMS mirrors.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to prepaid services in the communication field. A method for charging a prepaid account includes: delivering the available traffic to the NAS based on the available balance of an account shared by the user and other users in response to a successful authentication of a user's access request; and delivering the available traffic to the NAS based on the available balance of the account shared by the user and other users in response to a receipt of an Accounting-Request-Interim message from the NAS. The solution provided by the invention may deliver the available traffic to a user every accounting period so that an account can be used by multiple users concurrently, whereas overdraft does not occur. The present invention also provides a system and an AAA server for charging a prepaid account.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for visual language modeling for image classification are described. In one aspect the systems and methods model training images corresponding to multiple image categories as matrices of visual words. Visual language models are generated from the matrices. In view of a given image, for example, provided by a user or from the Web, the systems and methods determine an image category corresponding to the given image. This image categorization is accomplished by maximizing the posterior probability of visual words associated with the given image over the visual language models. The image category, or a result corresponding to the image category, is presented to the user.
