Abstract: Presently described are microstructured films, such as brightness enhancing films, having a microstructured surface. The microstructured surface comprises the reaction product of a polymerizable composition comprising at least 20 wt-% of inorganic nanoparticles and a non-aromatic multi-(meth)acrylate monomer comprising at least three contiguous alkylene oxide repeat units. The multi-(meth)acrylate monomer typically comprises two or three (meth)acrylate groups. The alkylene oxide repeat units have the formula —[O-L]- wherein each L is independently a C2-C6 alkylene. Also described is a polymerizable resin composition comprising at least 20 wt-% of inorganic nanoparticles having a refractive index of at least 1.68 and a non-aromatic multi-(meth)acrylate monomer comprising at least three contiguous alkylene oxide repeat units.

Abstract: A quantum dot film article includes a first barrier layer; a second barrier layer; and a quantum dot layer between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer. The quantum dot layer includes quantum dots dispersed in a matrix including a cured radiation curable adhesive composition with external quantum efficiency of greater than about 70%. The radiation curable adhesive composition includes about 30 wt % to about 99 wt %, based on the total weight of the radiation curable adhesive composition, of a multifunctional monomer, multifunction oligomer, or mixture thereof, wherein the multifunctional monomer includes (meth)acryl functional groups on a backbone.

Abstract: A quantum dot composition is described comprising light-emitting nanoparticles comprising a polyamine silicone ligand dispersed in a polymerizable resin composition comprising at least one polythiol, at least one polyene, wherein the polyene lacks functional groups that are amine-reactive, at least one amine-reactive ethylenically unsaturated component in an amount ranging from 2 to 15 wt.%, based on the total wt. % solids of the composition, and a hindered phenolic antioxidant. Also described are quantum dot (e.g. film) articles.

Abstract: A quantum dot film article including a first barrier layer, a second barrier layer; and a quantum dot layer between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer. The quantum dot layer includes quantum dots dispersed in a matrix including a cured adhesive composition. The adhesive composition includes an epoxide and a curing agent including: (a) a compound of Formula I: wherein A is a monocyclic or a polycyclic alkylene group, or a monocylic or a polycyclic heteroalkylene group, and m and n are integers each independently selected from 0 to 5; and (b) a polyether amine compound including at least one of primary and secondary amino groups attached to a polyether backbone. The adhesive composition further includes a radiation curable methacrylate compound.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to forming a bond with a high peel resistance between a bonding layer and an adjacent barrier layer. Such articles are particularly useful in the preparation of a device, in particular a luminescent device, and a method is described for assembly of the luminescent device. The luminescent device includes an encapsulation system using flexible transparent barrier film and an ultraviolet (UV) radiation curable (meth)acrylate matrix. The moisture sensitive luminescent material can be, for example, a quantum dot material disposed in a film, or a film construction that includes an OLED structure.
