Abstract: An electronically activated mailer capable of containing one or more articles to be shipped and having an activation code on the mailer or a receipt for it. The purchaser or user of the mailer scans the activation code, such as a QR code, using a digital camera on a mobile phone and, upon receiving the scan, the mobile phone is linked to a web application. The validity of the activation code is verified, possibly using a verification code on the mailer. Upon verifying the activation code, the mailer is activated to receive via the web application destination and return addresses and pick-up information for the mailer. The pick-up information payment are provided to a carrier for delivery of the mailer. Purchase of the mailer can also possibly be used to access shipping services via the web application.

The deployable cushioning sheets (1500) are connected to at least one wall of the containers (100) and can be deployed to be partially outside of the container for cushioning, for example by wrapping, an object (1600) to be packaged. The deployable cushioning sheets (1500) can contain, for example, paper, cardboard, foam, bubble film, or the like, or they can contain combinations of different types of materials. The containers (100) are useful in methods of packaging, storing, and shipping, among other uses.

In some embodiments, the presently described articles include packaging.

Abstract: A multi-panel sign system including first and second panels, and an adhesive-based fastener. The panels include a panel body and complimentary, first and second interlock structures. The panel body defines a front face for maintaining indicia, and first and second sides. The first and second interlock structures are located adjacent the first and second sides, respectively, and project opposite the front face. In an assembled stated, the first interlock structure of the first panel mechanically locks with the second interlock structure of the second panel to establish a interlocked joint, and the adhesive-based fastener is bonded to the first and second panels. The interlocked joint robustly maintains the panels relative to one another, whereas the adhesive-based fastener serves to prevent inadvertent sliding of the panels. Optically active sheeting can be applied to the front face of the panels, and desired indicia applied to the sheeting.
