Abstract:
The present invention relates to particulate microcapsule compositions comprising microcapsules and an emulsion polymer, obtainable via spray drying of an aqueous microcapsule dispersion, where the microcapsules comprise a capsule core and a polymer as capsule wall and the polymer is composed offrom 30 to 90% by wt. of one or more monomers (monomers I) from the group consisting of C1-C24-alkyl esters of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and maleic acid, from 10 to 70% by wt. of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers having two, three, four, or more ethylenically unsaturated moieties (monomers II), andfrom 0 to 40% by wt. of one or more other monomers (monomers III), based in each case on the total weight of the monomers, with use of an aqueous dispersion of one or more emulsion polymers which comprises in copolymerized formfrom 50 to 99.9% by wt. of esters of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid with alkanols having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms and/or styrene, orfrom 50 to 99.9% by wt. of styrene and/or butadiene, orfrom 50 to 99.9% by wt. of vinyl chloride and/or vinylidene chloride, orfrom 50 to 99.9% by wt. of vinyl acetate, vinyl propionate, vinyl esters of versatic acid, vinyl esters of long-chain fatty acids, and/or ethylene,as spraying aid, to a process for producing these, and also to their use for producing thermoplastic moldings.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an aqueous polyurethane (PU)-polyacrylate hybrid dispersion obtainable by free radical polymerization of at least one acrylate polymer (A1) in the presence of at least one polyurethane (P1), a process for preparing these aqueous polyurethane-polyacrylate hybrid dispersions, wherein said process comprises a) preparing an aqueous polyurethane dispersion and b) using the polyurethane dispersion thus prepared as raw material for the further synthesis of a polyacrylate dispersion, and the use of the hybrid dispersion thus obtained as binder in filled coating materials, particularly as a binder for flexible roof coatings.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hybrid latex comprising polymeric particles having core-shell structure, wherein: (1) the comonomers of the core comprise: (a) monovinyl aromatic compounds, and (b) unsaturated carboxylic acid esters; (2) the comonomers of the shell comprise: (a) monovinyl aromatic compounds, and (b) conjugated dienes; wherein the glass transition temperature of the core is in the range of −50° C. to 50° C., and the glass transition temperature of the shell is in the range of −50° C. to 50° C.
