摘要: A system includes a first heater positioned in or proximate to an exhaust aftertreatment system in exhaust gas-receiving communication with an engine, a second heater positioned downstream of the first heater, and a controller coupled to the first and second heaters. The controller is structured to determine, based on information indicative of a temperature regarding the exhaust aftertreatment system, that the temperature is below a temperature threshold; receive information regarding a characteristic of a battery coupled to the first heater and the second heater; control the temperature regarding the exhaust aftertreatment system without using the first or second heaters in response to determining that the characteristic of the battery is below a first threshold; and control a temperature regarding the exhaust aftertreatment system using the first heater in response to determining that the characteristic of the battery is above the first threshold but below a second threshold.

摘要: Systems and methods for controlling and managing ammonia slip are provided. A method includes: receiving, by a controller, data regarding operation of an exhaust aftertreatment system; determining, by the controller, that a condition for ammonia slip is present based on the data regarding operation of the exhaust aftertreatment system; determining, by the controller, that a condition for ammonia storage is present based on the data regarding operation of the exhaust aftertreatment system; and, commanding, by the controller, a heater to activate and warm a component of the exhaust aftertreatment system to reduce the stored amount of ammonia.

摘要: A recycling loop configuration of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system decreases a level of system-out NOx emissions of an engine. An apparatus including the configuration has an exhaust gas recycling system having a closed gas recycling loop system configured to heat gas circulating within the loop, and a blower for circulating gas within the loop. A method for operating the engine includes preheating at least one aftertreatment component of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of the engine by exposing the component to heated gas circulating in a closed gas recycling loop.

摘要: A system includes an aftertreatment system heater of an exhaust aftertreatment system coupled to an engine A controller coupled to the aftertreatment system heater is configured to determine a condition of an exhaust gas from an engine and compare the condition to a predefined threshold. If the condition of the exhaust gas does not meet the predefined threshold, the controller is configured to determine whether an engine operating condition is met for activating a cylinder deactivation operating mode for the engine. If the engine operating condition is met, the controller is configured to operate the engine in the cylinder deactivation operating mode by deactivating a cylinder of a plurality of cylinders. If the engine operating condition is not met, the controller is configured to activate the aftertreatment system heater to heat the exhaust gas.

The method includes: receiving, by a controller, information indicative of a temperature of an aftertreatment system of the vehicle and a power output of an engine of the vehicle; comparing, by the controller, the temperature of the aftertreatment system to a temperature threshold; comparing, by the controller, the power output to a power output threshold; and responsive to the comparisons, commanding, by the controller, an aftertreatment system heater to selectively engage and disengage to warm the aftertreatment system of the vehicle.

摘要: The enclosed disclosure relates to vehicle systems in which an engine, a particulate filter fluidly coupled with the engine, a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system fluidly coupled with the engine downstream of the particulate filter, an electrical heating device implemented with the particulate filter, and a controller operatively coupled with the engine and the electrical heating device, are implemented. The controller can detect, when the engine is turned off, a condition for turning on the engine, detect a temperature of the particulate filter of the SCR system, activate the electrical heating device in response to the detected temperature being below a lower temperature threshold, and turn on the engine in response to the detected temperature being at or above the lower temperature threshold.

摘要: A system includes a catalyst for receiving and treating exhaust gas generated by an engine, a passive NOx adsorber (PNA) positioned upstream of the catalyst, a bypass valve positioned upstream of the catalyst and the PNA, and a controller. The controller is configured to, determine that the catalyst is operating under cold start conditions, control the bypass valve to direct exhaust gas to the PNA, determine that the catalyst is no longer operating under cold start conditions and continue to control the bypass valve to direct exhaust gas to the PNA for a predetermined duration, and after the elapse of the predetermined duration, control the bypass valve to direct exhaust gas to the catalyst bypassing the PNA. The controller is also configured to detect a high transient torque demand while the exhaust gas is provided to the PNA, and split the torque demand between the engine and an electric motor.

The controller is configured to: while controlling the bypass valve to direct exhaust gas to the PNA, detect a torque demand that is greater than a threshold value; responsive to detecting that the torque demand is greater than the threshold value, engage a motor, coupled with a battery system, with a drive shaft of the system to meet at least a portion of the torque demand; in response to the engagement of the motor with the drive shaft not meeting all of the torque demand, engage the engine with the drive shaft to meet a remainder of the torque demand.
