Abstract:
A reaction adhesive becomes porous after hardening. This allows both small and larger gaps to be sealed between the bonded substrates, as the liquid adhesive has a low to medium viscosity and the hardened glue shows a marked volume increase. Reaction adhesives based on (meth)acrylates and that contain azo-bis-isobutyronitrile as initiator and expanding agent are preferably used. The disclosed reaction adhesive is preferably used for gluing reactive coils.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to adhesion-improved, curable compositions comprising a cyclic ether, a cyclic thiocarbonate, an amine and a carboxylic acid. A method of making such compositions and their use in adhesives, sealants and coatings are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to primer compositions for adhesive bonding systems. The primer compositions may be in the form of sprayable aqueous dispersions, which are shelf stable at ambient temperatures for up to three months under ambient temperature conditions, and demonstrate a cure profile of 45 to 120 minutes within the temperature range of 220° F. to 350° F. within 60 minutes of application. Significantly, the inventive primer compositions are substantially free of chromate.
Abstract:
Polyamides based on reaction products of C4-C18 dicarboxylic acids and diamines are suitable as molding compositions for the production of moldings in the low pressure injection molding process, and for adhesive sealing or filling in the production of electrical or electronic devices, in particular of plugs, cables, switches, sensors, transponders, modules, printed circuit boards or smart cards. In comparison with conventional molding compositions based in known hot melt adhesives, said polyamides exhibit higher strength values, higher abrasion resistance and higher chemical resistance.
Abstract:
An adhesive useful in making composites includes two components A and B. Component A includes at least one polymer having a molecular weight (Mn) of at least 800 that has at least one functional group polymerizable by irradiation with UV light or with electron beams and has at least one functional group capable of reacting with a compound having at least one acidic hydrogen atom. Component B includes at least one compound having a molecular weight (Mn) of from about 100 to about 8000 which has at least two functional groups polymerizable by irradiation with UV light or with electron beams.

The invention relates to moldable, radically polymerizable multicomponent mixtures, which may even be present in the form of storable multicomponent systems, containingethylenically unsaturated, polymerizable compounds, if desired in admixture with soluble and/or insoluble fillers and/or other auxiliaries, andan activator system initiatable by contact with oxygen, characterized in that, in their in-use form, the multi-component mixtures are present as at leastly slightly thickened material and contain an activator system based on the following principal components which can be initiated by contact with ambient air:N-alkyl-substituted tert.-arylamines containing at least one aliphatic CH bond in the .alpha.-position,metal compounds at least partly soluble in the system to accelerate the drying of unsaturated oils, andweakly acidic carboxylic acids having pK.sub.s values no lower than about 0.9.In their in-use form, the multicomponent mixtures preferably have a minimum viscosity of at least about 50 to 100 mPa.s. The invention also relates to the use of the activator systems of these mutlicomponent mixtures for the time-controlled hardening--with a predeterminable pot-life--of olefinically unsaturated systems by contact with ambient air at room temperature or only moderately elevated temperatures.
