An apparatus includes a front detection sensor detecting presence of a pedestrian on a driving lane of the vehicle, gaze information of the pedestrian, and a distance and a relative speed between the pedestrian and the vehicle; a vehicle sensor detecting at least one of a speed, an acceleration, a steering angle, a steering angular velocity, or a pressure of a master cylinder of the vehicle; an electronic control unit activating a function of a pedestrian detection and collision mitigation system based on information detected by the front detection sensor and the vehicle sensor; and a warning unit operated to inform a driver of a collision of the pedestrian with the vehicle by controlling the electronic control unit.
Abstract:
An apparatus for forward collision avoidance assist-junction turning of a vehicle includes a sensor for acquiring at least one of a steering angle, a steering angle speed, or a yaw rate of a vehicle, or a size, a position, or a speed of an opposite target. A traveling path area for a left-turn or a right-turn is calculated by a controller based on the steering angle or the yaw rate of the vehicle. The traveling path area is then corrected by the controller based on at least a portion of the steering angle, the steering angle speed, or the yaw rate of the vehicle, or the size, the position, and the speed of the opposite target. A warning against the collision between the vehicle and the opposite target and a control operation to prevent the collision are performed based on the corrected traveling path area.

An aftertreatment system for a diesel vehicle includes a lean NOx trap (LNT) catalyst, which is installed at a downstream of a diesel engine, absorbs nitrogen oxide (NOx) in a lean atmosphere, desorbs nitrogen oxide (NOx) in a rich atmosphere based on a lambda window, and converts some of the desorbed nitrogen oxide (NOx) to ammonia (NH3). A selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst is installed at a downstream of the LNT catalyst and purifies nitrogen oxide (NOx) that has passed through the LNT catalyst using ammonia (NH3) generated at the LNT catalyst.

A service request processing apparatus for a modem for a vehicle according to an embodiment of present disclosure includes a receiver, a management device, a service request processor, and a transmitter. The receiver receives emergency call state information generated based on a connection state of an emergency call service of a vehicle, and a service request for attempting a communication connection to the vehicle from a sender. The management device updates the emergency call state information in storage. The service request processor retrieves the emergency call state information in the storage in response to the service request, and determines whether to transmit the service request to the vehicle based on the emergency call state information. The transmitter transmits the service request to the vehicle under a control of the service request processor.
