    摘要: A process is provided for the production of a catalyst useful for removing nitrogen oxides out of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines operated under lean burn conditions. The catalyst is produced by supporting at least one catalytic metal, such as platinum, iridium, rhodium, other transition metals and alkaline earth metals, as the active component on a support, such as a zeolite, by either wash-coating a solution of the catalytic metal components onto the support; evaporating off solvent from a mixture of solvent, catalyst material and support, or rapidly drying droplets of support and catalyst material containing slurry with a hot gas. The supported catalyst is activated by heating to a temperature of 150 to 300.degree. C. for a period of time sufficient to desorb catalytic material components, such as water, chlorine and ammonia, out of the pores of the catalyst that adversely affect the activity and heat resistance of the catalyst.

    摘要: An exhaust gas purifying catalyst includes a metal-containing silicate and a noble metal active species carried by the metal-containing silicate. The metal-containing silicate has a solid acid characteristic wherein the amount of acid within a region where an acidity function Ho is equal to or smaller than -3.0 ranges from 0.04 to 0.55 mmol/gr. The noble metal active species burns an hydrocarbon component of exhaust gases to decompose an NOx component also contained in the exhaust gases. The catalyst may include a binder for carrying the noble metal active species on the metal-containing silicate. The binder has a solid acid characteristic wherein the amount of acid within a region where the acidity function Ho is equal to or smaller than -3.0 ranges from 0.04 to 0.55 mmol/gr.

    摘要: Disclosed is an exhaust gas purifying catalyst, which comprises an oxygen absorbing material having a catalytic noble metal arranged at a lattice position or an interlattice position of a crystal structure of a composite oxide containing Ce and Zr, which is capable of sufficiently exhibiting a catalytic function even if a ZrO2 mass ratio is out of the range of 20 to 30 mass % or 65 to 90 mass %.
