摘要: A thin film of a metal of which eutectic or compound is produced together with a semiconductor which is to be grown in its crystalline form is deposited on an amorphous (quartz glass) substrate. The thin film is patterned with a periodic pattern of a polygon having cross angles of multiples of about 60.degree., then the resulting substrate is heated at a temperature higher than the eutectic temperature of the metal and the semiconductor, and the semiconductor is deposited on the thin film under such heating condition, so that a crystalline film of the semiconductor is precipitated on the substrate. Such crystalline film is grown on a planar substrate at a low temperature of about eutectic temperature.

摘要: A heat generating apparatus having a housing assembly in which a working chamber including a heat generating region for heat generation and a fluid storing region for storing a viscous fluid, and a heat receiving chamber for receiving heat from the heat generating region are formed. The heat generating apparatus also having a rotor element mounted on a drive shaft to be rotated within the working chamber to apply a shearing action to the viscous fluid within the heat generating region. The viscous fluid generates heat when the shearing action is applied thereto so that the heat is transmitted to a heat exchanging liquid flowing through the heat receiving chamber. The heat generating region and fluid storing region communicating through an aperture formed in a partition wall formed in the working chamber, and the aperture having a gas-phase portion, a liquid-phase portion and a liquid supply portion.

摘要: A waste heat utilization apparatus of a first embodiment includes a driving system including an engine and a turbocharger supplying pressurized air to the engine, and a Rankine cycle system used for the driving system. The Rankine cycle system includes a coolant boiler causing heat exchange between coolant as heating medium and working fluid, and a pressurized air boiler causing heat exchange between the pressurized air as heating medium and the working fluid. A first bypass channel for allowing the working fluid to bypass the coolant boiler and a three-way valve are provided in the Rankine cycle system. In the waste heat utilization apparatus, the amount of heat absorbed in the working fluid in the coolant boiler can be reduced by flowing the working fluid into the first bypass channel.

摘要: A viscous heater is provided which can carry out full heat exchange securely. For instance, fins 2c through 2f are formed in a housing, and project into a water jacket RW. Thus, a surface area of a wall surface constituting the water jacket RW is enlarged, and a circulating fluid, taken in through a water inlet port 8 and delivered out to an external heating circuit through a water outlet port 9, is circulated along a specific route.

摘要: A variable capacity type viscous heater is provided in which the capacity reduction is carried out securely, and which can inhibit a viscous fluid from deteriorating the endurable heat generation even after a long period of service. For instance, it includes a heat-generating chamber, a collector passage, a supply passage, and a control chamber, which are formed therein. The collector passage is communicated with a central region of the heat-generating chamber, and is capable of opening and closing. The supply passage is communicated with a lower region of the heat-generating chamber. The control chamber is communicated with the collector passage and the supply passage. A silicone oil, held in the heat-generating chamber, is collected into the control chamber by the Weissenberg effect by way of the opened collector passage, thereby carrying out the capacity reduction. Whilst, the silicone oil, held in the control chamber, is supplied into the heat-generating chamber by way of the supply passage, thereby carrying out the capacity enlargement.
