摘要: The disclosed subject matter includes embodiments of fluid couplings that prevent or discourage misconnection of fluid lines. A coupling device includes multiple male and female connectors that are joined to a common line. The coupling device is mated to a matching coupling device only when all the multiple male and female connectors are property joined. If any of the connectors is not property mated to a corresponding one, the coupling will leak. The coupling devices are made unique by providing an arrangement the connectors, number of connectors, shape of connectors or arrangement of interfering connector parts that ensure that any attempt to improperly couple two fluid lines will result in the incomplete mating of one or more of the connectors and thereby cause leakage of the fluid, failure of the coupling to engage, or otherwise cause the attempt to connect to fail.

摘要: A pressure measurement device usable for monitoring pressure of fluids such as blood, waste, and replacement fluid in a blood treatment system provides a reliable signal and other benefits by virtue of a number of features of the various embodiments disclosed. The pressure of fluid carried by a vessel or tube is measured by measuring a change in shape of the vessel or tube via a sensor element contacting it. Materials, shape, and mechanical support cooperatively ensure that the little inelastic strain occurs and pressure measurements are repeatable. The embodiments are compatible with the use of disposable vessels and tubes.

摘要: Peritoneal dialysis is performed by circulating peritoneal dialysis solution through a peritoneal cavity by conveying peritoneal dialysis solution through an inlet branch into the peritoneal cavity and by withdrawing peritoneal dialysis solution through an outlet branch from the peritoneal cavity. Peritoneal dialysis solution in the outlet branch is conveyed along a first side of a porous membrane while conveying a regeneration solution containing at least one regenerating agent along a second side of the porous membrane. The membrane is configured to transport the regenerating agent into the peritoneal dialysis solution while transporting waste from the peritoneal dialysis solution into the regeneration solution, thereby creating a regenerated peritoneal dialysis solution. The regenerated peritoneal dialysis solution is circulated through the inlet branch into the peritoneal cavity.

摘要: Systems and methods handle air and rinsing fluid during fluid processing. The systems and methods eliminate air from a fluid processing system prior to, during, and after use. The systems and methods provide a connector assembly for establishing fluid flow from a fluid source. The connector assembly has discrete first and second passages that prevent communication between the fluid in first passage and the fluid in the second passage. Prior to system use, the connector assembly may be utilized in a priming function to remove residual air from a fluid circuit prior to use. The connector assembly may also be utilized after use to perform a rinse-back function.
