    摘要: An apparatus includes a portable housing and a plurality of separately operable microfluidic emitters disposed within the housing. Each microfluidic emitter h an inlet for receiving a liquid and an outlet for emitting a spray. Each microfluidic emitter is movable within the portable housing between a first position in which the outlet of that microfluidic emitter is fully retracted within the portable housing and a second position in which the outlet of that microfluidic emitter projects out of the portable housing. The portable housing with the multiple emitters is adapted to be detachably coupled to another housing portion. This housing portion includes a microfluidic substrate with a channel for transporting an eluent and an outlet aperture for emitting the eluent. The inlet of one of the emitters is detachably coupled to the outlet aperture of the microfluidic substrate.

    摘要: An apparatus for use in a chromatography system includes a first microfluidic substrate having a first fluidic channel. A second microfluidic substrate has a second fluidic channel. One end of the second fluidic channel terminates at a first fluidic port on a first side of the second microfluidic substrate.     摘要: Surgical devices permitting a surgeon to access repeatedly tissue at a particular surgical site in a patient to perform multiple surgeries over time. The devices have two substantially planar and parallel leaves that are sterile, nonresorbable, and biocompatible. Each leaf forms a continuous structure and defines the entire longitudinal length of the device to accommodate the size and location of the surgical site. A base member is located in situ and adjacent the surgical site. An anchoring surface secures the device to the tissue of the patient at the surgical site. The leaves have a conjoined portion such that a manual force is required to separate the leaves, thereby expeditiously creating a pathway through which access to the tissue at the surgical site is realized with minimal tissue dissection, and the proximal ends of the leaves are not conjoined to facilitate separation of the leaves and creation of the pathway.

    摘要: In a strapped-down gyroscope space vehicle attitude control system, a method and apparatus are provided for gyro drift and input axis misalignment error compensation employing a sun and a star tracker and preselected vehicle calibration maneuvers. During the preselected maneuvers using the sun and a star as external references, the outputs of two-axis strapped-down gyroscopes nominally aligned with the optical axis of the sun and star trackers are measured. The measured outputs provide gyro drift calibration, roll, pitch and yaw axis scale factors and values corresponding to the degree of nonorthogonality between the roll axis and the pitch and yaw gyro input axes and the nonorthogonality of the roll and pitch axes relative to the yaw axis. With the calibration data so obtained stored in a special purpose digital computer, the vehicle is then rolled and yawed through precomputed angles as modified by the calibration data to acquire a target without further recourse to external references.
