A functionally graded shape memory polymer (SMP) that has a range of transition temperatures that are spatially distributed in a gradient fashion within one single article. The SMP is formed by post-curing a pre-cured glassy SMP in a linear temperature gradient that imposes different vitrification temperature limits at different positions along the gradient. Utilizing indentation-based surface shape memory coupled with optical measurements of photoelastic response, the capability of this material to respond over a wide range of thermal triggers is correlated with the graded glass transition behavior. This new class of SMP offers great potential for such applications as passive temperature sensing and precise control of shape evolution during a thermally triggered shape recovery.

The distortion automatic frequency control circuit performs a compensation function for a slight frequency variation in a frequency offset range allowed by the specification of the system to which the circuit is applied. In this case, accordingly, it is possible to maintain a stable call conversation. When a signal having a frequency being beyond a frequency tolerance of the system is generated, the wideband automatic frequency control circuit operates to perform a rapid automatic frequency tracing function. That is, the wideband automatic frequency control circuit determines whether or not the automatic frequency control signal emerging from the distortion automatic frequency control circuit has a frequency included in an automatic frequency control range and outputs a new automatic frequency control signal based on the result of the determination. Accordingly, a frequency distortion phenomenon caused by a variation in frequency is effectively prevented.

Also provided is a method for producing a multipotent cancer stem cell line, including (1) isolation of breast-cancer cells from previously extracted breast cancer tissue, (2) primary culture of the isolated breast cancer cells in a suspended state in a medium for suspension culture, (3) recovery of the cells in the suspended state from the primary culture, and (4) production of a multipotent cancer stem cell line by subculturing the recovered cells a predetermined number of times or more in a suspended state in the medium for suspension culture.
